Absolute cop-out. This was Hawthorn at the start of last year.

A much bigger problem than inexperience is that we only have about five players who play like they steadfastly believe in themselves to win games
Winning games should change that.

Winning games should change that.
It's difficult to win any game in the first place when you have no one who believes they can win though. Our lads have braced themselves for the opposition comeback in every single game we've been decently ahead in since the end of 2021, instead of relishing the chance of winning and forging ahead with it. Even in the Gold Coast win at the end of 2023, they kicked three quick ones to bring it back to three goals with six minutes left. In a game that we'd dominated. We relied on Tarryn from that crucial centre bounce to put that one to bed. We shouldn't have had to.

It's unacceptable. But it's so strongly rooted that, if we win 3 games again, I wouldn't be shocked at all. I also wouldn't be shocked at 10 wins, because most would assume that at some point, the talent would start to tell. Really bizarre situation. We're stuck in a hamster wheel that no other bottom team has been stuck in in the AFL era

Whats your ladder prediction?
I don’t have one because I’m a glass half full kinda of guy.
Watching this side move up the ladder will be an enjoyable ride.
From where we’ve been any enjoyment should be celebrated not played down to prove a point.

All that is a by-product of the worst collection of senior players the Club has put together since the late 1960's and early 1970's - and probably back to the 1930's, if truth be told.

The bright light this year will be the improvement of the kids under the leadership of Parker/Daniel/Logue/X.

With the addition of the three premiership players, anything less than eight wins should see serious heat on the coaching staff.
