Last drill was pretty punishing. Ground was split in half from goalsquare to goalsquare. sides split into 3. Only 2 sides at a time were in one half and one had to transition from bp to fp and one group defended, if group transitioning out made it from ended to end the defending team had to run over to second half of the ground and do it again against 3rd group. If defending team got the turnover or stoppage then transitioning team had to run over. Went for about 20 minutes with a break about 10 minutes in.
They did this a fair bit last year when I saw them in Bundoora.
Intense but practical and the players seemed to enjoy the competitive element. Defensive efforts and turnovers are what it’s all about. Also, being clean.

Geordie was on modified program with the rest who are in rehab or building up their intensity as he had shin splints

It's a bastard drill in hot weather especially if you don't manage to retain the ball and then you can't intercept for the next couple of end-to-ends. Players dead on their feet on the defending team while the other teams are gliding across the turf.

From my POV thought Parker was dominant. Sheezel, mckercher, will phil, Powell, larkey, X, LDU, zurhaar were all very strong throughout.

Thanks mate. I've said it plenty of times but I am so excited to see Parker in North colors. His leadership is going to be worth far more than we are paying him.

Comben fully participating. Duursma jacko, brayden g pink hat. Will dawson fully participating no strapping on shoulder but still in pink hat. ldu moving fine no strapping on knee despite that report.

First main drill was split into 3 group doing different transitions. 1 transition deep in back pocket after chaos ball and having to handball out under pressure. Other from a mark 40meters out in defensive flank then transition through wing through kick and runners for handballs. 3rd throw in stoppage ball hits ground and trying to transition out to the wing. Some observations Whitlock very agile for size and good hands, got dumped by xerri after he handballed and just got straight up. fos hands in traffic great.Caleb Daniel, kallan dawson, goat and corr in separate group. CCJ just in the gym and riding bike on sideline. grappling for 20 seconds the break into spring, other group centre square sprints jacko/tucker/Luke uruquart/ sheez covering ground well. George Wardlaw rocked up an hour after training started and copped some shit from the boys now running laps. Transition from defensive 50 flank to opposing d50 flank. Another group 2/3 ground drill forward and defensive transition. After that full match scrim for 10 minute halves. There was a great Hansen jnr run down tackle on ldu where ldu burst through the stoppage and on the wing and hansen jnr ran him down from hff and pinged him. Whits is 100% effort each contest hates getting beat was playing on souv, souv beat him a few times through smarts or whits cheating with positioning once and getting caught out.Whits got done on one lead and hardeman came across souv and fisted it over the fence. Sheez/Mckercher played full mid. Pink (was positioning well just contested marking let him down) JD nailed him a couple times in the contest. Stephens was playing defensive wing. mckerch, fos wing, parker was on second team but his was so loud directing traffic constantly. Comben, logue, pink, Whitlock all playing defence.
What a report.

The club couldn’t do better

Thanks mate
