Handball is his go then

Yeah probably him a brickwall at the end of last season after playing most of the year.
Plus we were severely undermanned in the last few games with players out across the board.
His direct opponent towelled him up in every match. Thats garbage. He has a long way to go before he is a competent defender

Y'all react to Chom getting beaten by Larkey and think that is bad by Chom. Well, I think it sounds promising re Souva. Reckon he had a pretty poor year last year, hopefully he is striving for much better.
To be clear - I don't worry at all about Comben being beaten by Larkey. He's a gun FF with plenty of experience that is great at making players look stupid in 1v1's.

Congrats to all in this thread for being quoted in the Herald Sun today as "track watchers" - the article says said track watchers have been very impressed by Luke Urquhart. Another bumper example of this board contributing news stories about North Melbourne players with the Urquhart surname.

In the match sim I saw Larkey took an overhead contested mark on the goaline, Maley, who had been doing blocking work for him was volubly thrilled.

They seem to be working quite hard on their blocking and key forward patterns, presumably Darling's experience will be massive here.

I saw Julian Assange at training too, so good he's home and can enjoy the little things like this

And what…. 28 games of actual footy? Experience wise the guy is a pup.

This isn't directed at you speedy, but I just find the juxtaposition between how some fans treat Charlie compared to Will amusing;

For the 400th time, he is an instinct player and intercepting in the backline or moving in the forward line is where he is best. Considering the investment in Dawson and Whitlock, I assume the match committee don't see him playing back long term. I always thought his intercepting was a little overrated.
Im disappointed Moti, very slow to take the bait,,,,thought others would be jumping all over that too!.........

.....actually having caught up, perhaps a small riot has been incited after all.

Sorry guys - I know you’re keen for video content but I’ve just posted some flicks and edits from yesterday’s sesh if anyone’s still hungry for stills!

love your work maddiemelb! Hopefully a fulltime job with AFL media team coming sooner rather than later.

Big Will Dawson and Hards looking noticeable bigger and stronger.

that George pic is magical. Should become the silhouette image for a better AFL logo, like the NBA logo

Comben is very poor in standing contests.

He’s great when third man in, except when he spoils.

His direct opponent torched us on many occasions in ‘24.

This is equally true for when he plays up forward too.

He's not the "beat his man 1-on-1 in a contest" type of forward.

He's perfect as the roaming tall intercepting defender.

Doesn't have to do much outside of actually going for the ball as the 3rd man.
Hard to learn defence when you didnt play it as a junior
