Well after watching that video it's obvious we have a 141% chance of winning the flag this year.

Domination - unlike last year where we kinda scrapped home this year all the commentary will be about Brisbane as favourites all season. We have a belief now that it is ours to loose. (touch wood) We have a healthy list and all the pressure is coming from within the squad just to get into the firsts week after week.

And

I particularly loved that right after the Granny the players were already talking about winning it again for Oscar and the others that missed out. Our midfield had their best game together in the grand final, running into defence to help out then supporting each other in multiple linked plays. We are just too good to not win it again and probably again.
 
I never really have one expectation for a seasons. I'm usually able to see multiple scenarios. That way, I'm rarely disappointed.

The big wildcard is the lack of Joe - I really can't predict how his absence will affect the team. I suspect we may lose at least one close game, especially early on as we make that adjustment, that we might otherwise have won on his back. Eric's going to be important, but I can see the haters being ready to pounce if he doesn't stand up.

Massively agree with this. Expectations definitely shift over the year as different things happen - just last year the difference from the start of the year to when we were losing and the massive hit of ACLs to then the back end of the year so many different scenarios happened.

The Joe replacement is clearly the biggest wildcard. Massive hole to replace and whoever gets the gig will mean we have to shift our game plan

The other big wildcard is while we have a heap of depth in most spots we have a big rehab group right now. And we have the premiers issue of the latest preseason start. It means our team to start the year is probably going to be very up in the air and it might take quite some time to figure out who is fit and who is actually in our best team. There is a very big chance we have another slow start to the year.

In 2024 losses, losing leads, being 13th had no impact on the premiership. The same should go for big wins, leading the pack and being top of the ladder.

My 2025 goal is to remember this and not let superstition stop me living in the moment when it's good, and catastrophising on a negative result.

I think the wildcard is lack of hunger or more like lack of desperation. It took quite a few to have career best seasons or step up in finals (Joe). They won't necessarily hit those levels again

The key to happiness is to zero out your expectations. Unhappiness is the difference between your expectations and your reality.

Of course I completely disregard this sage advice and wait in trepidation for the worse to happen.😳

I love this because it is so true:
