Oh it would be salty joyousness if Smith went at 49% disposal efficiency or less when we play. Then we can claim in our salty glory that he's still kicking it to us more 😆
Seriously, I think the thing Cats fans enjoy the most is the poaching of players and the hurt it gives to the other club. How much better would GWS, Gold Coast be if Geelong wasn’t a predatory club. On the AFL website, it has an article on rising star winners and Clubs top 10 picks, with the exception of Jye Clark all the other Geelong players listed started off at another club. Anyway rant over let’s beat them at home for the third year.

That’s not quite correct. Blicavs, Stewart and C Guthrie are all one club players.

Great by Croft but gee wiz that’s shocking awareness from Williams.
I wouldn't say lack of awareness, more like over confident. Given he burst out of a pack, and had his back to it, and thinking he is Usain Bolt. So many times across the last couple of seasons, our players held onto the ball for too long, or stuffed around with it, instead of getting it away. I think we turned it over a fair bit around the half forward line, by players caught holding the ball.

Though lack of awareness is still a team issue too. Like hand-balling to a team mate with someone right on their ass. Just don't. Basic common sense stuff that shouldn't happen at pro level.

Correct, sorry I was looking at the list of players selected in the top 10, and these were all players from other clubs, with the exception of Clark who looks like a bust.

The reality is we’ll never know from the outside where to place the blame.

Has the player held on too long?
Has the forward line failed to set up in a way that gave the player an option?
Have the coaches failed to properly establish what is expected or over complicated their instructions leading to these mistakes?

Not sure how he didn’t get a game towards the end of last year.
L Jones.
Buss played as an old school FB at VFL level and did really well (in my eyes anyway).

Buss takes kick outs too - he's a really long kick which is a great asset and it hardly gets talked about.

I suspect that's why he's still on the list. He isn't the most able player but his mindset and spirit in a more talented player would be quite the player.
He's selfless too. His teammates love him because he'll do the stuff off the ball that lets them shine.

Forward structure these days relies on all 5-6 players doing the team thing ('5' because we often push a high forward up to the contest).

Matt Kennedy played a lot of half forward for Carlton and wouldn't be in our first midfield rotation (surely head in our second) so it will be interesting to see how we structure our forward group this year. Macrae played their a fair bit too, and Daniel at times.

Hes a much better forward than Daniel and Macrae. Very good contested marker. I’d like to see at least a 50/50 split. I’m hoping to see some of the Dunkley defensive mid traits.

Speaking to a Carlton supporter who's a bit ITK and they said he is a pretty good player and of / a good character as well :thumbsu:
