Where does Matt Kennedy play?
We already have Naughton playing up the ground too, and Weightman is a lock. That means West misses out, ditto our designated pressure player (VDM/McNeill). Unless we're planning on a Marra absence in round 1...
No way can we leave West out. Still can’t believe he didn’t play that final.

Weightman - Naughton - Kennedy
West - Darcy - Marrah

Plenty of pressure in there from both tall and small.

We tend to play 7 forwards and 7 defenders so that leaves one pure pressure player to take the bench spot. McNeill is having an amazing pre-season by all accounts too - the above side is more balanced than posts higher wanting yet another lead up tallish type.

I do suspect Weightman gets some mid/wing minutes to keep him in the game which means one of our mid rotations needs to go forward to play that pressure rule at times. Opens the door for Garcia to grab a bench spot, we have to reward the guys that turn up in good nick.

I don't believe Kennedy is a walk up start round one, same as Sanders and Gags.

The pressure has been put on Marra recently to improve his fitness and 4 quater consistency, practice matches and match sims will be just as important as they will be for first year players.

Whilst teamsheets may look similar to 2024 there will be drastic changes during games. We will see alot more spread through the midfield with Libba reducing minutes further and becoming somewhat of a centre bounce specialist off of the bench. Weightman, West, Garcia and Co will also so on ball time increased.
English is expected to drop back into defence even more so then in years gone by with Darcy taking alot more Ruck contests around the ground and then spread forward aggressively to expose defences.

MKennedy just finished 7th in Carlton's B&F. We tend to play the mature players we target. I'd be very surprised if he's overlooked

Good to see Sanders finishing third. I'd be curious to know where he finished last year and whether he was already a gifted runner or if he's completed a significant amount of work to improve.

Did Jamarra train? That's probably my biggest concern heading into the season.

Looking at the first photo on club website, Jamarra is in the group starting the time trial (on the right).

His flexibility is arguably his biggest strength. I can't see him missing many games but fully expect him to be a Mr fix it type like he was at the Blues and first one in for many roles when injuries inevitably come. If we have a full strength team he'd want to be in some good form.

I'm pretty sure he won the 1-4 year players trial last year and was second only to B.Smith overall if im remembering correctly

JUH worries me.. could be nothing but for weeks it just looks like he’s spending time with some interesting looking characters and not with any doggies players like he usually does..
as I said, could be nothing, just a vibe I’m getting.
Back to a juh talk he is at training and thats all that matters
