I think Stringer will win a flag with GWS. Getting out of Melbourne is the best thing for him. Smith should have gone to Sydney for the same reason. As much as I hated them in 2016, now that we took that flag off them I quite e joy watching them. They have a hell of a team on paper!
Sydney are not much chop in Grand Final’s though. Would be tough to be a member….particularly with the Umps always shafting them. Not sure one could fork out the cash for the GF weekend after their last 3.

Find Jamarra a high profile model girlfriend and settle him down. Worked for Judd and Buddy.

In all honesty there is on one person who can fix this and that's Jamarra himself. Yet he has to want to change. Not all players do.

Clubs need to be more ruthless though as the way I see it we don't lose. If he wants to be a footballer and commits great, if not you trade him as soon as possible and move on. Just like they do in American sports.

Everyone needs to be on the same page.
I know a bit about Marra love life
A model gf isn't gonna help hahaa

Look it’s possible.

Despite his supposed maturation post being sacked by us, he still managed to invite gangland killers into the rooms at his new club so I’m reasonably happy we made the call we did!

GWS midfield worrying for me, not enough depth.

Is training open to the public and if it is, what time does it typically kick off.

I'll be in Melbs with a few hours to kill tomorrow morning and would really like to see all of the new muscles on display.

Whilst Im there. I'll get to the bottom of and then sort out all of the issues that have kept JUH off the track.

Jock Edmond went to Sydney for the pay cheque. But you left one player out, the greatest player to play for the jumper was the Hawk. He would get down to the club in a heartbeat if they asked him.

Edmond went after the infamous OS trip when a few players got in trouble. I thought of Dougie as he loves the club but he would get on too well with the players, need someone to be hard arsed and read the riot act to them

Don’t come back without it.

Lucky Croft is looking so good. Our tall forward depth is pretty ridiculous. If Marra totally implodes the overall impact on our list is incredibly small given he was a pick 1. This situation would break most clubs structures for several years but, again assuming it doesn’t resolve, it’s likely to just open up spots for fairly talented alternatives.

Wouldn't mind if you could end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours while you're at it.

He’s had a couple glamours mate.. they don’t seem to be lasting long!

Johnno makes a valid point. It’s so hard to catch up when you miss so much of the summer. This could be a wiped out season if he doesn’t return full time soon.

Clayton Oliver case in point. No preseason meant he was horrid at the back end of the season.

I don't really buy into this as a general rule. Sure you get some cases like Clayton Oliver, however I suspect there was a bit more going on than just an interrupted pre-season, but at the same time you had Will Ashcroft miss all of pre-seasons and only come back into the team in Round 17 before going on to win the Norm Smith Medal.

It's great for Victoria and Melbourne. They spend a shait load of money getting here, and then even better for pubs, because that is where they drown their sorrows. YOU OUGHTA LOVE DA SWANNIES!

I think there are players who pull it off but it probably comes down to how much work they can do while out.

Ashcroft was probably absolutely working his guts out the whole time he was injured and stuck to his program like glue. Bont was hobbled in the 2016 preseason and started a little slower before hitting his straps but is self-motivated.

In the case of a guy like Oliver, he likely wasn’t working hard at all during his meltdown and JUH training away from the club is probably not getting anywhere near the bang for buck he would if he was there. He’s always looked a little unfit.

Just scanning through the last five pages of this thread, there seems to be a selective memory around a few situations, starting with Dunkley, the player he fell out with in the hub in 2021 was Hunter and his drinking, but remember Dunkley’s father was very controlling, and pushed the idea that football is a short career so make hay money wise. I was at the B&F when he won it, and Bevo made a very pointed remark about needing our salary cap money to go around.

Dunkley mentioned the running at Brisbane, but also was quick to add his comment was taken out of context by by media personalities after Bevo’s blood.

Stringer, the club was laughed at when we pushed him out, but I think the club is vindicated now and made the right decision.

Smith, who knows it all, but his obsessive personality and poor mental health wasn’t helped from his Insta fame. If I am being kind, maybe getting down to sleepy hollow might be better for his mental health, but there have been a number of comments passed on to make you think, he is high maintenance and the players were over it. We certainly were not throwing large offers to him. One journalist on radio, gave an account of the Torquay camp, where he was photographed and filmed by channel 7, he kicked up a fuss and the club had to ring channel 7 and ask them to cut him out of the footage. I imagine you will get sick of that after awhile.

Anyway Marra, I hope things work out for him and the club, but at the end of the day, there is no “I” in team. If the leadership group are unhappy with him, then he needs to pull his head in and listen to them.
