Think it was mostly probables versus possibles with a few people rotating into both teams. think that was the case just to make teams somewhat fair. Hewett seemed to be in the possibles which I wasn’t expecting, it was mostly him and lord versus Cripps Jagga cez and a bit of Ben campo

Mots also got goes on ball at times

Definitely forwards and backs were the usual suspects, matty carroll was a surprise defender in the suspected probables and looked at home as well
Yep, have distinct impression Carroll has jumped the queue on a couple of other possibles to be right in the mix.

On the basis of a report from one poster from one match sim?

At least you can't be accused of over reacting.

I’m the resident over-reactor, it’s what I do.

But seriously, just over a year ago he was our number 1. If HOK gets game time over Pitto this year, his papers are stamped.

Let’s see what happens.

Also went along to training to today and will try and add a little to what Juice has already said. The rehab group consisted of Charlie Curnow, Rob Monahan, Matt Duffy and Sam Walsh, they pretty much did their own thing and went to the oval next door when match sim started. I saw Alex Cincotta briefly doing some handball with one of the trainers and spotted Nic Newman getting around in a leg brace. Neither Zac Williams or Jordon Boyd took part in the match sim, agree Williams looked fine and was standing at the goals up one end for most of the session. Boyd looked like he had strapping on one calf from the knee down and did some stretching and striding, but spent most of his time talking to the trainers.

With School back with week it wasn't surprising that the NGA boys were not there this Friday. I saw McMahon, Will White and Grainger-Barrass, but don't remember seeing Sam Durdin and Matt Carroll looks like he was put back on the rookie list before the match sim today (from the video I just watched). There were a few other additions, I'm assuming were VFL players, the big ruckman who has been there most Friday's who I believe is Flynn Riley, along with about four or five others, Francis Evans who kicked the first goal of the match sim and there was another tall player who I think is Ethan Phillips.

The first two quarters of the match sim, seemed the usual with the Blue side stacked with most of the better players. But at the second break most of the backs swapped sides, so Weitering, Haynes, Ollie Holland, Saad, SOS, switched to the White side and Young, Grainger-Barrass, etc. joined the Blue side, so Weitering lined up on McKay, Saad on Motlop, etc. They played the next two quarters with this line-up. But pretty much changed back for the last two quarter (not sure they're quarters if there are six of them). SOS was the only player in the match sim to wear a yellow (don't tackle me) cap, but he played in defence for the Blue side and moved well.

Pitto did take a strong mark for a goal in the first quarter, but I agree that O'Keeffe is now much bigger and has more to offer, kicked a couple of goals, one a very good grab out of the throw in and snap. Harry McKay kicked three goals (although I don't think he kicked any on Weitering). Fantasia also kicked three. Kemp kicked two as did Fogarty and Acres who is back moving well. McMahon managed back to back goals in the fifth quarter, he clearly has the talent, I'm not sure we will take a punt on him with the players already on our list that play in the same position. A fairly long session, McGovern copped a low blow at one stage and Lemmey got a cramp late in the session, but fingers-crossed everyone else pulled up OK.

We have three rucks on the list . TDK has never played 20 games in a season. HOK played 8 VFL games last season. I'd be delighted if we ended up with 3 AFL quality rucks on the list. Be nice if all were durable. Pitto is at worst a lowish salary mostly durable ready to go ruck. You wouldn't even dream about "stamping his papers" if you are going to sign TDK on a monster contract.

Goodness me. Goodness me.

Jagga ****ing Smith. You had me at hello.

Buckle up bitches.
Until you love his training as much as you loved Walshy’s - then I don’t believe you :p

Is he lowish salary? He was our number 1 ruck and signed a 4 year deal while having multiple suitors from memory.

Certainly is. Signed a longer term contract to give him some certainty for a reduced amount. The average AFL salary in 2025 is $519,000. I'd be comfortable that Pitto is on way less than that based on absolutely no knowledge.

I going to show you how much I loved him today by ripping off Maya Angelou:

We love and lose in Brisbane
We weep on Geelongs moors
We laugh and moan in Adelaide
And thrive on Melbournes shores
We seek success in Sydney
Are born and die in Perth
In minor ways, players differ
In major, they’re the same

I note the obvious differences between each sort and type
But they are mostly more alike, my friends, than they are unalike

I’ve loved and idolised Kouta
I’ve worshiped good old SOS
I’ve cried watching Sticks and Braddles
And laughed as Charlie soared

I’ve seen so many come and go
And loved them just the same

BUT Jagga is more unalike my friends
Than he is actually alike
He is MORE unalike my friends
Than he is alike

He is going to be the single best ground ball get player in the history of the afl.
