And we wouldn’t be contending until LDU is 30.

There’s no excuse for not hitting 12+ wins from 2026 onwards.

I agree that its way too long but you need to look at the base we are coming from, this is a rebuild that has stopped and started and had 4 coaches in that time, there are players in it who simply don't know how to win, it will take much longer than 2026

I think you might be a bit punch drunk from the last few years.

We should be significantly better than last year. Our best players are all moving towards their prime years and we have brought in some handy experience. This improves our depth and means we aren't fielding VFL standard players as often. In round 1 last year we had Lazarro, Pink and Fisher in the team. They have been upgraded to Parker, Darling and Daniel. It should make a huge difference.

We are still progressing, I think 5 wins is realistic, its an increase of last year (almost double) and we will be a lot closer in a lot of games as they learn how to win

That is glacially slow progress. Cusp of or in finals 2026 has to be the expectation from Clarkson.

We have an AA full forward, AA squad ruck, AA squad mid/fwd and just brought in three premiership players who have also been AA.

We have multiple high picks like McKercher, Wardlaw, Duursma and FOS who should be AA at some point in their career.

LDU as well.

This alone means a bottom 4 finish is unacceptable. I think we will finish just outside the eight.

I won't be surprised if we make the eight either.

We are still the youngest list in the league and don't know to win. I think wanting 5 wins is optimistic. I can't see any way we get to 10+ wins until Sheezel, Wardlaw etc are at least 23-24 years old and can lead this team
