2025 Pre-Pre Season v 1.0
Sheez Sinclair Houston are locks for mine. Houston bye not ideal but I’m still bullish on his role and SC output potential. Locked him in rd1 last year and sticking with it again. He’s a Pie now so added bonus. Mills and the rookie are standard D4-D8 selections.
Looking to have a bonafide SP starting midfield with 4 big hitters and another in piggy Oliver @ M5. Can’t pass on his price. Again Naicos bye not ideal but IDGAF. He’s my 1st picked no questions asked. period.
Rookies will be interesting to round out and I expect this is where I’ll be flipping players around pending rd1 selections. Purposely have gone higher priced picks here for trade flexibility before rd1. Bullish on Ed Allan for the Pies here. Need new midfield blood in our side and he’ll get opportunities.
TDK picked here for his massive ceiling. Absolutely busted some big games last year and should be Carlton’s clear No.1. Whether he has the tank to carry that is questionable though and this where Pittonet hurts him. I’ll start with him because I love the ceiling but ready to flip him later if I see any fatigue or shared ruck red flags. Hodor is one I’m taking a flyer on. Risk reward pick. Reports so far are good and we know when healthy he scores BIG. If he’s still fit rd1 he’s a starter. English would be other choice if funds permit.
Forwards are MPM standard and I’m not too concerned with line. Not loving the Lynch/Martin selections but that can change as rookies present.

F1 is ambitious. Rank & JHF will be top 2 for me. Luke Jackson if Darcy injured also. Then there is Macrae, Smith too.
I think the “safe” version of my prediction would be like.

If I was actually predicting in a competition it would be:

the four popular players are for a reason, they have enormous role upside.
No way of knowing now though, just wait until the end of the season. But I’m planning as if I have 4.5 FWD keepers to start the season.

I reckon he does, why spend an extra $200k for a premo who won't score? Injuries I get of course, and 23 premos would be great if you can afford it... big if.

The BSmith, Pou, Helmet, J.Crae will be the 80% selected forward line for the masses..

Who are the 3 genuine forward premo's you will upgrade to? Assuming everyone has those four then Rankine and JHF.

I’d guess if you ran the season 100 times, Pou is F1 about 7 of them or so?
Appreciate its a big difference between top 8. That’s why I said a shot at F1 and I’m pretty confident about top 8.
Pou has elite junior scoring pedigree, showed great scoring in the role last year against super tough opposition and is now a year older. Athletic, tall, hard working and great footballer. All the signs are there for me.
I’m happy to make some bold calls every now and then. Laugh at me at the end of the year if he is way off.

As a stepping stone, probably 90-95 .....he'll tackle his way to that score, as he's not been a big possession winner to date
Smith though is now under the GEEL system ..... IIRC Holmes was their highest ave player with 100 ave ....Dangerfield with an 84 was GEEL's highest averaging Mid
Really like Baz.
Has scored well in the inside midfield role in the past and I think he will be an inside mid. Expect him to do really well.
I also really like Peatling though. His scoring when he has over 50% CBAs was very good and I expect him to have the role at Adelaide. A lot of clubs were after him and I expect that he was promised the role (as he wanted to be a midfielder). You’ll know better than me, but I see Adelaide’s mids as Dawson, Crouch, Peatling, Soligo and Rankine. Probably something like this split;
Dawson: 70%
Crouch: 65%
Peatling: 60%
Soligo: 50%
Rankine: 45%
Random: 10%
Even with some wiggle room there, it’s a great role and I expect him to bring the tackling pressure and toughness to the midfield. Think he could go 90+ and has 100+ potential.
I’d have to see something bad in preseason to not pick them.
Also, would never pick Baz or any of the FWD DPP players in the midfield to start. The reason they are good is because they are forwards. Starting them in the midfield and losing a lot (even at the start) is losing value compared to other teams instantly.
