re Tom Green, r2 bye should be ok with full rookies playing (or very close to), I’m liking the r16 bye to follow. Having him play through all the other byes suits me nicely 😀
Seems there was abit of drama with Green last year.
But looking back at last year he was pretty soild.

Our sides are so similar, it's spooky ....probably more scary for you ;)

I still need to see more of SDK to know if his Rucking is FT

Didn't realise Day was subbed out 4x last season .....that's a huge red flag

Yes Lalor likely to spend early career down fwd .....not a place to be at RICH
Was subbed off twice, injured both times, in consecutive weeks

Major injury before season 2024 and still did well for a stretch of games

Having a good preseason by all accounts, if his body holds up, he'll go 110-115 I reckon

His injury history is a concern, plus he'll probably cop a few tags

Sadly he's out of my side, he's my big breakout contender, but we'll see what happens over the next few weeks

Very susceptible to those tags as well - is value but can probably afford to see how he looks in round 0

Yeah had the game where he scored 5 (I think it was) that burnt many coaches.

Fairly happy with the structure, could tinker in a few spots. Rookies just place holders.
Think I prefer Gawn to Bontempelli, dont mind fading Flynn.
Great GnR team. You’ve got seven round 12 bye players already (also includes your 4 best scorers).

You could consider Gawn instead of Xerri to balance that. Also Xerri has a tough run to start the year.

Team has been changing daily and no doubt will have to change again.

I'm liking this structure though, having a big emphasis on balancing premo availability over all of the byes. Rookies are predominately 2nd & 3rd year players, but still just placeholders.

Flanders and Cripps are in because of their very soft draws to start the season.

There's 8 MP's who, with a bit of luck, might deliver 5 keepers. Rivers and Peatling will hopefully hold down their positions until they can be flicked during the mid season byes to keepers that have already had theirs, banking on 1.5 trades each to upgrade. Flynn could well be traded to Phillipou around round 7 to gain another possible keeper for just 1 trade.

If I budget 3 trades per rookie priced player for upgrades then I could possibly end up with just using 25 trades to get a completed, 31 player team. That's obviously a best case scenario but not impossible.

Don’t mind the cut of this teams Jib. Got some early bye players but it opens up later byes for me.

Nice team, like it! I don't think that you're over exposed during the early byes, 2 premos missing round 2 (wouldn't be keen on any more than that) and 2 MP's missing round 3 (everyone will have those 2) with a full squad for round 4.

Changes:
  • SDK back in after the news that he's gonna be given a crack in the ruck.
  • A few people have turned me off Lalor, he's gone out for Sheldrick.
  • Parker has come in.
  • I really want him, but I've taken Will Day out for Dawson. I've convinced myself I need Dawson and Day was the one to make way. Day is next in line if I decide against SDK or Parker.

Notes:
  • Starting to warm to Sanders. I don't think he'll get enough mid time to really explode, but he's such a piggy that he can probably find enough ball playing elsewhere.
  • Under $20k itb gives me anxiety, ideally want $50k or more.
  • I really want Tom Green, but the rd0 and early bye is annoying, plus just don't know how I can fit him in.
  • I'll drop SDK/Peatling/Parker if I need more cash for expensive cash cows.
Team hasn't changed in 24 hours

Just wanted to let everybody know that this is the SC 2025 winner's starting side. Feel free to copy. Froffies on me in September!

7k left, see any problems?

Pretty solid side. I reckon if we get enough cheap rookies, you can drop 2 or 3 expensive cash cows, pocket cash, then grab an extra stepping-stone (like Cerra) or mid-pricer (like Parker).

$7k left is probably a bit low. I currently have $18k and I feel that's way too low. Ideally $50k or $60k so you can turn a cheap rookie into an expensive one when you do corrections. But rookies are placeholders, so no stress at the moment.

Strong side. I like the Stewart pick, I think with the Cats strengthening in the middle, Stewart will go back in defence and get back to his best. Not convinced on Kako, $150k for an 18 yo small forward, unless he gets 5+ tackles and kicks a goal, I reckon he has 20s and 30s in him. Also not convinced that Allan and Draper get enough midfield time (if they even make the starting 22) to justify their prices. Love the Newcombe pick.

Crows were missing drive off HB last year, and it impacted their ball movement ......one of Milera or Cumming will be designated QB .....it won't be Laird
Who has better speed?

I think if Allan plays, it has to be in midfield. He just doesn't seem particularly effective anywhere else. Pies also can't afford not to develop any young mid that shows actual promise with the grampas we have running around in there.

They should, but will they? Daicos, Perryman, Tictch, Crisp and JDG the main mids??

Daicos, Pendles, De Goey, Crisp and Perryman. Titch will come in eventually, but doubt it's from the start (still battling some injuries).

I think we'll go with the oldies, we're pushing for a flag, they're all-in.

Projected 2363. Not sure if I believe all the projections. What it has done though is made me think outside the box.

Players to cull - Frejiah, Davies, Lord, Daniels, Switkowski

There is no value in any of those players - they are not going to make enough coin to justify their inclusion in your starting team and small forwards especially are so volatile with their scoring. They are not going to be keepers either.

Strachan won't play for the Crows unless ROB is injured.

Stanley - you are scraping the bottom there. Deadset spud. SDK will play as number one ruck for Geelong.
