Absolutely: we simply don’t have draft picks to get Rowell or any other player requiring a first pick.
We didn’t use a first round in drafts 2023/ 2024 and don’t currently have one for 2025.
Yes we can trade 2 years in advance now, but AFL rules state you must use 2 first round picks over a 4 year rolling period. ( We may argue the Houston trade)

My value for LDU would be a top 10 pick and a top 15 pick. If North finish bottom 3 they maybe wouldn’t force a trade to get better picks.

Richard’s value a late first rounder. With money we paid Houston and Perryman he’d probably get band 1 compo.

Anyone wanting to talk Rowell or other big names, I’d love to know Who we are giving up to get draft currency.

HDM was a first round pick.
We used 2 in 22.

So we are not actually required to use another 1st round pick until '27.

Depending on where a bid is expected this year, we may use "a 1st round pick" in terms of where a bid comes.
If we don't expect a bid early, then we have plenty of currency and choices.

Even still, with what is effectively 3 years worth of draft currency available in any given year, that 4 year rule (which is actually more of a guardrail than a rule) is now pretty pointless.
