There is almost 0 chance dogs will deal with geel if it eventuates.
Yeah there was a lot of bad blood between Mackie and Power by the end of trade week. I really don’t see how a deal would get done for a contracted JUH unless Geelong offered overs (which that twat Mackie won’t do).

If Darcy and Bobby legitimately want to leave, no way we’d be giving West Coast more than those two for Reid

Darcy Cameron is a Premiership ruckman at peak age yet to hit 30

Bobby is a Norm Smith medal winning small forward who is only 25

Reid is technically still nothing more than potential and promise already demonstrating a potential lack in professionalism and attitude

If anything it would be our two for Harley and I’d want a pick in the second round as well
I’d prefer that deal too obviously, just can’t see it getting done for that. Big risk either way, Reid is still just potential as this stage and no guarantee of fulfilling it.

Price doesn’t scare you? He’ll be a $1.2m pa proposition given Perryman’s in the $800-900k range.

I’m hoping it doesn’t work exactly like that ie Perryman had the Giants very keen for him to stay and Port coming hard with plenty of cap space. Depends on who is chasing Ed and if he’s keen on them or not.

I rate it as unlikely anyway, unless the Dogs have cap issues with the Bont wanting to stay on his current salary and asking for length. Maybe that English contract but seems like he’ll easily stay unless there’s something else (eg hates his coach and what not).

Ed Richards is priority this offseason imo.
I see the merit in Richard’s, however wonder about the future mix. We’ve got Daics and DeGoey as offensive weapons with toe who you prefer on the outside. I think a bull inside extractor like Rowell would balance out our centre square more so than Richards. The free agent element does sweeten the deal significantly though…

Maybe LDU is the best mix of tough inside extractor / available as a FA.

Geelong interested in JUH
They believe they have the lifestyle of being out of melb fishbowl and closer to his family as an incentive. He's now formed a good friendship with Smith.
No idea why Geelong would think that the Dogs would even contemplate dealing with them on a contracted player after the Smith trade.

I’d be surprised if Brisbane didn’t do a Daniher with him tbh… I hope not..
Rumour was that Brisbane did some digging last year on this and decided that JUH was not for them, at least for the price the Dogs would have been asking in 2024.

I reckon a big melb club would be the last place he would come given all the media attention someone like him would get.
So might land in a Northern State Team then

Because his ceiling is sky high and I trust our environment to get him right?
I don’t think my concern would be our environment. I think it would be more the concerned about the personal input JUH would have on and off the field. Not so much personal life but his dedication, want and input to be the best player he can be.

My current example at the club would be AJ. Whilst nothing seems to be hampering him off field that we know of, his input on the field is hit and miss with more on the miss side.

I think AJ has all the natural born talent to be an A grade star but so far he just can’t put it together.
