Chill out all. He’ll be better when we are.
No he won’t. Slow, lumbering, weak… if he had any quality to offer at AFL level he would’ve shown it by now.

Supporters convincing themselves that consistently underperforming duds are anything but doesn’t help anything.

Delusion only serves to make the current predicament more difficult to accept.

It’s an odd one and a ridiculously flawed argument.

Basically we’re shit now but all the shit players will be ok when we’re good..

Meanwhile.. in the real world we are shit now because we are playing lots of shit players, per game on a regular basis.. we won’t be shit when we’re not playing lots of shit players, per game on a regular basis.

Not sure how the reason we’re shit will get better when we’re not shit without the shit not playing. Amazing stuff..

25 games bro. We got belted today. Big men take time. Not saying he’s gonna be a star. But he might be a useful role player. And the time to make that call is in a season’s time, not straight after a bad loss.

He’s 24 and should be at his physical peak. He moves like a ruckman but clearly isn’t one.

When (which admittedly might be a while) we’re a decent side he’ll be nowhere near the team.

I think CCJ is heading in the right direction - probably, too slowly for most of our liking. However, the trend is upward. That’s a positive. Hopefully, he will thrive when Goldstein moves out.

On what planet is he trending upwards?

The bar has been further lowered everyone. His last month of football has been horrid.

Haha. Another donut for the potato. Trade of the century.
You have a strange hatred for him, mate. It's almost like you're barracking against him. Relax. I agree we overpaid and I agree it's hard to think of a position for him if he doesn't cut it in the ruck. But for now he's one of us, he's our best contested mark sans McKay and Logue, and he's had moments in all of his games that clearly indicate football skill, unlike a few blokes I could mention

As quite a few of us said at the time of this deal - as soon as CCJ said he didn't want to walk through the PSD - or when Richmond said they wanted more than our pick 38 - then this offer should have been withdrawn by us.

Dumb unathletic lumbering ruckman are dime a dozen and we could have picked up CCJ's combined skillset via a rookie selection.

CCJ had shown nothing at Richmond to justify any draft capital or 4 year contract length - and he certainly hasn't done anything since joining us to justify anything beyond a rookie selection.
Que sera sera. Go find out where he lives and give him a piece of your mind.

Not sure why anyone would single him out? He’s a typical North player of the last 5 years - happy to be an AFL footballer and isn’t really going anywhere fast. You could easily find another 15-20 in the same boat. One of whom is currently seeking 700k plus contract.

What’s so special about CCJ, other than the fact we traded for him?

Ah, jeez, man. OK, fair enough. Let’s just say he’s hopeless.

he isnt hopeless, just another journeyman in the 2 year congaline of arden st journeymen , only dissapointment is we payed Non journeyman price for him, bit like one of those white van speaker buys, when you make the deal you think you have the real deal only to get the product home and pop the speaker cover to discover a couple if very underwhelming speaker drivers beneath.

Was sitting at a bus stop on the Edgware Rd in NW London after finishing work 1 day. Van rocks up, bloke jumps out and offers me a set of "quality" speakers. I tell him no thanks mate, then the place has 4 of the Old Bill pop up and grab the bloke and the other fella in the van. I smiled to myself and gave a silent "you're nicked". As it goes, I was working for an audio visual hiring place ... no need to buy speakers ;-)

I think that's the point EH - if we selected him as a rookie then no one cgaf - but when you are trading pick 20 in the early stages of your rebuild for these types of shitmen then you only have yourselves to blame.

Pity the tiggers never got nabbed for robbing us.
