I remember when we drafted him and he stepped straight into the side.... the kid could play.

Can still play. Just keeps doing what he does. Doesn't lose too many contests and is generally good with the ball.

Is not getting overly exposed on pace so he may have a few more years left. :)
He has always been a bit slow. He is putting together a pretty solid year.

Would be good if we could double his speed 😛
Having a really good year . If he could run faster than 10km an hour he would be in the top 30 players in the comp.

he was OK, but a massive part of our inability to tranisition the ball out of defence. too slow, not confident enough in his kicking.

plays with a lot of guts mind.

Was just interviewed on SEN. What a top bloke he is.

Talks about his season, his role and the back 6, going tall in yesterday’s game.
Also discusses Zach Merrett leadership and the team’s response after the port game, honourable mention to Sam Durham’s game of late. Talks about Brad and where Ess is heading this year and post football.

Full interview available on the SEN website.

If we had played him as a half back intercepting player his whole career he could have been amazing.

Not referring to you directly, but I think people have forgotten how important and influential he was as a midfielder for all of those years. Without Jobe and Dyson in there, we would have been uncompetitive. Those two won us a lot of matches in the mid and late 2010’s.

His decision making is top shelf. Slow...yes, but playing very well.

Martin and Cox have made a few errors back there...just like Hepp used to do when when he moved from mid/wing. Most were saying he was cooked. Give these younger players a bit more time to get properly used to the backline and they will become rock solid as well.

Hepps is not going to win us games but, he will save us games. Until someone decides to stand up and give us a more consistant option I for one will keep eating humble pie.
