Pick 25 was fair value for Crameri. Carlisle is younger and a better player. Crameri contract was $350k plus - we're talking $700k for Carlisle which is double crameris market rate. The trigger for band one compensation under free agency is under $700k which would trigger a first round pick as compensation in this instance. It's a first round pick or tell your story walking.
we would be paying him by new cba standards not the old ones like crammers is.

also saints would aggressively overpay because it would give us a better chance of obtaining him because we have built up a war chest and the overpay wouldn't reflect what we actually value him in a trade IMO.

Trouble for the Bombers is that Carlisle could pick Saints as his first choice destination and still keep the option of going to the Blues in the psd as his second choice. In that situation if Saints offered this year and next year's second round picks surely you wouldn't knock that back?

Given that we all know he won't go past Carlton in the psd surely even St Kilda and its supporter base understand that if they really do want him then the only way they're going to get him is through trade right? And that the only way we will agree to trade him is if we get something that actually satisfies us, meaning something remotely similar to his actual value right?

At minimum this is a first round pick. Not two second rounders around 30, not a second rounder and some hack who can't get a game. I mean it seems quite simple to me, but then I look at the st kilda posters all over the last couple of pages in this thread or the absolute cesspit that is the draft and trading thread on the st kilda board and can only shake my head in bemusement.

More to the point, I would rather see Buckets play for you guys than Carlton. The last couple of years we have tended to get deals done, but I don't know whether two 2nd rounders is worth it for Carlisle.

The club will do it in the last hour of the trade period unless anyone is interested in joining the bombers. An alternative would be the Second round + steak knives and by steak knives i mean someone who you won't be looking to delist lol.

I wouldn't call a second rounder this year and next year jack shit. You wouldn't give up pick 6 for a player who's 1) out of form 2) out of contract 3) might get a drug suspension.

Why would a club trade for a player who may get a drug suspension ? That has to be bad list management !

St. Kilda's Pick will likely become pick 7 after the Kreuzer and Leuenberger compensations are slotted in for Carlton and Brisbane. Carlisle for pick 7 seems like a fair trade.

Why could't Carlton and Essendon swap pick 1 and 4 for Carlisle ? - Carlton get pick 4 and Carlisle and Essendon chooses the best player in the draft with pick 1.

If Carlton end up with pick 2 via compensation as well - what about our pick 4 for pick 2 and Carlton's second rounder?

Not much difference between pick 4 and 2 but given we could ultimately lose Carlise for nothing I'd take it.

That's rewarding his bad attitude, doesn't send a good message to the rest of the group

Ffs how does he have a bad attitude

This place is as bad as the media, bullshit becomes myth becomes narrative and it just gets repeated over and over again

Attitude aside, I think 700 is just too much based on his performance.

St Kilda supporters - You are looking to pay $700k per season for a 23yo CHB/CHF who has an abundance of talent and is the type of player your club desperately needs. In fact all of your supporters seem intent on getting him to your club. Pay the fair value which is your first pick, or take a walk and don't bother posting in this thread on the Essendon board. It is insulting.

I guess walking around telling opposition players you hate the club is a great attitude to have.

Each to their own.

I'll just add to this that while opposition supporters are welcome to post here and participate in reasoned and respectful debate and discussion on this topic, if you just want to come in here and talk up der 2 year banz as a reason why a packet of chips is a fair deal you might just find yourself with your very own ban. Don't do it.

How many employees have bagged their work, their boss and their company and stayed? Billions! It shows he has passion - if he didn't care he'd say nothing. In the heat of the moment he was pissed off they were getting thrashed which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Dropping head, going half arsed and not putting in 100% effort to your job?

You'd get fired if you shouted out how ****ed the company was and wished you were elsewhere.

I think it's a little different. He shouldn't be saying what he did to opposition players, if that was true. And he hasn't been trying that hard, especially up forward. He needs to take a look at Hooker to see how he should be acting, no matter where he plays.
