Warming to the pick here. Exactly the type of player that can come in and play from day 1 as a medium forward and complement Hayward if we were to go to a 2-2-2 system. Maybe could have gotten him with our next pick but we picked a medium forward for the first time in bloody forever.

I don't see him as someone that can come in and play from day 1. Nor do I think he was available at our next pick.

It's telling that Hannaford and Oliver were both snapped off so early.

It's been 2 years (Magor), but hopefully he fares better and gets a good run in his favoured position.

We'll need the VFL team up and about for forwards to develop.

Tbf Magor was a rookie draft selection. The last time we truly invested nationally would be Hayward right. Tried Magor and HHK through rookie and mid season drafts respectively

Fair about not being available at our next pick. Don't know why you don't see him as being able to impact in 2025, given he has great explosive attributes and is the type of player the team is crying out for.

We still picked one. Though I don't think we really tried with Magor. Absolutely grinds my gears picking players then refusing to play them where we drafted them from. I get we needed to for Magor temporarily, but didn't switch back.

Anyway, hopefully we're more competitive in the VFL than this year, and especially first half of 2023, so that we don't need to fling kids around to find it.

Probably needs some size and consistency. I'm not sure we can afford more players who play well for a quarter or two, or a game every 2 or 3. But that's hopefully something that comes with a more professional environment.

Get the feeling young Roberts is an up & coming young leader of our club. one of the few players I see that can have improvement on his last season. Well done to Ned Bowman. Welcome & please challenge your new team mates to get tougher.
Agree just don't know if i want Roberts to stay at half back for his career or move into the midfield like his draft profile suggested.

Great to see him with Fox and Snell up north. Snell another showing leadership traits.

Definitely think people are sleeping on Snell and others that haven't played a game or limited senior minutes.

Personally think Snell and Bowman could play games in 2025 but also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't/played late on in the year

After calming a bit down and listening to Keane as to why I sort of get the pick now. We actually do lack X Factor in our forwardline the guy who can do something out of nothing.

The type we needed. I'm on board with it

Sounds like he's been bolting all year.

I reckon Dos and Robbo could be good players to get around him.

Keeps up a long tradition of us drafting from the Redlegs. Our ties have been enduring! Jared Crouch, Nic Fosdike and Heath Grundy all came from Norwood. More recently, so did Dyl Stephens.

Plus there's the St Peter's College connection with Matty Roberts and Will Hayward (and Tom Harley).

Issac Heeney says hello

Yes but he shouldn't be playing FWD, I have some hope Horse won't revert back to him playing more FWD. Him aside though there's nothing and when he's not in the forwardline it's worse

Everyone's favourite, Matty Ling, is currently playing there too.

Here's hoping the coaching changes work for us in the VFL.
