We ruin talent.
It’s not arguable.
Ruckmen, key defenders and inside mids not so much.

Well they did get pickett with that pick.
It is not if Phillips hits his straps but WHEN.I guess the question is would we have taken picket? With retrospect you would take kosi and have used our 2nd to take Powell. Of course that could look a hell of a lot different if Phillips hits his straps.
He’s already got LDU coveredI think ldu has a higher ceiling than Powell. It’s just if he gets there or not. Both will be elite imo.
He’s already got LDU covered
No we wouldn’t. Why get him at 3 when you can get him at 13? Doesn’t make sense. If the recruiters new how good he would be we would have taken him with pick 3.
I don’t see it but I hope you are right.LDU will be a match winner.
Powell will be a high production midfielder.
It’s going to be a nice symbiotic relationship…LDU will be a match winner.
Powell will be a high production midfielder.
Because recruiters would have rated him in the top 3.No we wouldn’t. Why get him at 3 when you can get him at 13? Doesn’t make sense.
Its his brain that sets him apart - the split second decision making that seems slow motion to him. All the greats have/had it.Were their others that watched this kid's draft highlights and even his earlier games thinking that there wasn't anything special that stood out? Sure his usage of the ball by hand or foot is good but nothing really grabbed my attention in terms characteristic skills.
Like what makes him good, why was he considered a round 1 pick in the draft?
But the more I watch the more I'm starting to notice his astuteness around stoppages, pushing forward and finding space.
I'm sold.
We were spoilt in the 90’s.
I want that back.
OODA Loops.I reckon this kid would rate pretty highly on reflex/decision making type tests. Could be a fighter pilot or something.

Early days yet but iam seeing the sort of traits of Cunnington, Sam Mitchell and Greg Williams had which will make him an absolute weapon as he builds some core strength and transitions to the middle. fast forward a couple of seasons and picture him and Jed at stoppages. Its his brain that sets him apart - the split second decision making that seems slow motion to him. Theres one passage of play today where Tom was streaming off the half back, he went to handball over an incoming defender, but he reassessed in a split second, checked his handball then did a 25 metre kick to a free player on the wing.
His vision and elite decision making are streets ahead and the more the pressure situation the better he responds.
This kid could be the best thing that happened to us since the Duck..
Yep. You need both and actually a variety through your midfield. Probably the most exciting thing is that each of our young mids is different in some way to their teammates.LDU will be a match winner.
Powell will be a high production midfielder.
A lot of love for tommy on the radio this morning
Surely
who else went well this week Around the league?
Lol stay saltywhy do you care? You wanted to draft Finlay McRae with that pick because Powell was too Vanilla...
