Was just about to say that in hindsight with Ridley's rise prominence, the inclusion of Zerk allowing this fellow to go forward could be a viable option alongside Shaun McKernan. Obviously shuffling the cars a bit but we need to be creative.

The injury isn't ideal, especially in a shortened season, we're going deep to the well this week it looks like.

Persist with BZT and Gleeson and manage Hooker by playing forward when it suits.

If our plan is to bomb it in F50 and force a stoppage he is perfect, but the guy also forced some space and presented for a nice mark on Friday so he does have technique.....

Hooker is on the sidelines and won’t be playing.

I suppose he will join the increasingly large number of senior players coaching the scratch matches instead.

Don’t remember how many but Hooker, Bellchambers, Shiel and Heppell. Hooker and Shiel have jackets don’t they?
Heppell too but Bellchambers played.

Ah yup. Once Stringer is out of quarantine I guess he’ll be coaching too.
And Daniher.

Heppell as head, Daniher forward, Shiel midfield, Hooker back with Stringer to replace Shiel when not suspended and Ambrose to replace Hooker when fit.

Running. Couple of weeks away.

“Cale is progressing really well. He is 11 days post-calf strain now. He had his first introductory run yesterday and he’ll be another couple of weeks building up before he joins in with the group."

Building up running loads, rejoin main training in a week
Essendon may be boosted by the likely returns of both Cale Hooker and Orazio Fantasia over the next fortnight as they continue their recovery from calf injuries.

Head of medical services David Rundle said the pair would build up their running loads over the next week before reintegrating with the main training group.

“Both Cale and Orazio are doing very well," Rundle said.

"Whilst they both do have calf strains, their pathologies are somewhat different, so they’re being managed differently with their programs. They’ve both commenced running and they’ll need to build their running loads over the next week or so before they rejoin with the main group."

May be available against St Kilda, but not against GC tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Cale Hooker remains an outside chance to return to the senior side later this week as he nears a complete recovery from a calf strain.

“Both are recovering from calf strains. Cale is progressing very well and starting to integrate back in with the main training group. He won’t be available to play on Wednesday and the decision about whether he plays on Sunday will be left until later in the week,” Rundle said.

Not available against St Kilda.
The club will continue to take a conservative approach with the impending returns of both Cale Hooker and Orazio Fantasia from calf injuries, with Rundle confirming a decision had been made that Hooker will not be available for selection for Sunday’s clash.

Should be available against Hawthorn (which is a Thursday night game, so 9 days away).
The club has all but ruled out Cale Hooker and Orazio Fantasia for the match against Richmond, with the pair in the frame to return from calf injuries against Hawthorn next week.

"Cale's making steady progress. He won't play this week, but provided all goes well, he should available to play against Hawthorn," Rundle said.

Available to line up for game 199 against Hawthorn.

Hooker has been sidelined since round seven with a calf injury, but is available to play his 199th game in the round 14 match.

"Cale's tracking very well. He had a solid hitout on the weekend, trained fully with the group today, pulled up well and will be available to play against Hawthorn," head of medical services David Rundle said on Tuesday.
