So did Melksham. Kav started on the bench, and played in the middle in the first quarter. Then went to half back. Played a good period of the third quarter on the wing. Yes he did have Varcoe for a while in the second quarter but i would not call it long periods. They all had a number of players at half back.Kav had Varcoe for long periods of time.
Kavanagh is not AFL standard as others have pointed out.
I wouldn't even get hung up on that. Pick 19, in a draft that had already had 12 underagers creamed off by GWS the previous year. Not phased that he was a first round pick though.
Only way he survives is if we only cut 10 players and he's 11th on that list (say, toss up between he and Dalgleish)
Yeah, kinda sad...10 players and we still hold onto Kavanagh or Dalgleish...
Hard to say with any of the fringe player, but I guess he is one that could benefit from the opinion of a new coach.
Rightly or wrongly, they may assess players differently to the current crop.
You mean like when they could've had him for free last year but decided against?True - hypothetically if dew were to get the job who's to know if Sydney have been following Kavanagh with a view to recruiting him..

With Melksham being traded out, might just get one last shot at it.
