What a load of rubbish , perhaps run a line over his AA form last year , i take it you already have, last season 15G v 7 other finalists
He was a jet last year and I was hoping he would be as good this year. Time moves forward and this year he hasnt been as good. If your rebuttal is to say he was good last year you are essentially telling the world you have no argument but you are still mad.

I love Shai Bolton :heartarrow:

Edit: I probably should have mentioned...that I had just got through watching the freo game...and he was fantastic...and it took me back to when I was really unhappy with him for "also" signing with "that" manager...yet as 2019 rolled along and he got better and better...I said all would be forgiven if he helped win us another premiership...and look what happened...I couldn't be happier...I mean...who's perfect.
And I'm sure it bothers him what I think :)

He is a massive downhill skier. That first goal West Coast kicked he was just jogging as their midfielders sprinted into the forward 50
He was most composed and effective in the Fourth when the heat was on. He led the team to a win.
The team needs to win quite a few more games from this point on. Happy that Shai continues to lead in the months coming. Like Dusty, Shai makes the opposition very nervous.

Yup, the fact he has showed up in the last few weeks is a point for my argument. If he can do it and chooses when to do it then that just highlights the downhill part. If he can't stand up when we are shite but can only do it when we get momentum then he is not a player to be relied upon in a rebuild.

Shai is like dusty, they are polished like icing on the cake who can take a team to the next level. They are always going to struggle in poor teams as they are not your meat and potatoes type players. Even a 2017 dusty couldnt drag a west coast up the ladder.

Don't care about AAs in the forward line, we are 1000x a better side when Shai plays more midfield than forward.

He offers speed there which we lack as well, hope he plays majority midfield for the rest of his career.
Its no suprise that Freo had no answers for him and he took the game away from them. Very few midfielders with his speed and agility.

He is the perfect compliment to a midfield led by TT that includes Prestia, Cotch and Hopper.

I think the key to having him in the midfield is that we need to be smart about who we partner him with and who his direct opponent will be and how they can impact the game as well

As good as Shai is when running through the middle we need to accept that defensively he’s not going to be majorly accountable so we really need to make sure we have our other guys really switched on to pick up the slack or we have the upper hand in the overall midfield battle

In the Essendon game his direct opposition Stringer absolutely torched us in the final qtr but likewise on the weekend Shai had the upper hand

I would disagree to a point. West Coast are ****ed because they are basically playing a WAFL side and no player could drag that up. Dusty in 17 would get North more wins than they have this year. He turned games in those years. Dusty's issue was that he was getting cheap touches in the backline but also wasnt as fit as he was in 17. He was still a good player that had big impact when we were shit in 2010 to 2012.

100% agree, that why I mentioned all our defensive inside bulls. Their job is to let him do what he does best.

And some people on here wanted him traded....
I wanted him traded...as I felt he was being disloyal...him and his "agent"...just like I reckoned dimma needed to go ;)
After 35-36 years of nuffin...that's just how I felt.
Happy to have been proven wrong...on both counts.
And I don't really need the holier than though types to keep smearing it in my face...but of course they can...if that's what makes them happy :p

Had a great game on the weekend, I thought. Really went in and his pace was obvious in and around the ball.

Second half of the season has been far better than the first IIRC.

Who else likes the nickname Gumby for Shai? Because he can extract himself from tight situations as if walking through walls and he also kind of looks like him? Just a thought.

i think atm Shai serves the team better as a mid.

Absolutely, his centre bounce clearance work is elite (can't back that up statistically, but it could be?)
Taranto and Hopper are slower and smash the ball on the boot, I prefer Shai bursting out and hitting it inside 50.
finally, someone who sees TT for what he is doing.

I still think Taranto is a great player, more of an accumulator yes, but still happy with his general output.
Very good in front of goals too.

I miss the days of the Dustys, Edwards, Deledios of the world running it out of the middle and having a ping from 55m
