Has he earned it though? From the match reports I've read he sounds like he's way off it. Not saying he won't be a player but how long have others had to wait...
Giving him a sniff of the big time.. He probably won't play all of the remaining games (unless his form warrants it) but you've got to give kids the opportunity to see if they're ready for the real thing.
A good game to play him too, against a fast team on a fast track.

Set up beautifully for when he misses. Oleg out with Aleg

But on a serious note. IMO have confirmed that they have absolutely NFI selecting this kid and have basically selected him for the sake of selecting a young kid. From what I have seen of him in the 2s runs around like a lost sheep a lot. Might get involved a bit but still has tons of learning to do. This will translate to him being dropped immediately and another been there done that selection will be stamped with this brains trust. The kid ain't ready. There are kids that can be and can produce , so you bring them in. **** this coaching panel irritate me with complete and utter nonsense

He does have one attribute that we lack against a side like the Dogs is speed dude. And while he is a kid in AFL terms he has being playing against grown men for a few years now.The step up might not be as steep.

hopefully he takes it by the horns and kills it...but I just got this feeling the brains trust want to silence all the fans that are calling for change and jsut picked him for the sake of change and to seem to be doing shit. Against the dogs? like not against the lions not against the druggies, they bring him in straight into the fire and he will get killed and they will bring in the usual supsects next week...

There are also players who just click at AFL level when given a chance, lets hope he is one of those.

You are massively misguided if you think any coach at any club influences selection based upon social media opinions

Look at the outs apart from Grigg,Couldn't argue with any of those outs and apart from last weeks effort our reserves have been putrid.Apart from George who has at least been consistent over the past few weeks. So yes Oleg comes in with not much impact at reserve level but when the cupboard is bare then what choice do you have.

man maybe i am but you tend to get that way when the club and its coach are massively misguided in a hell of a lot of things in terms of on field stuff. ;)

People on the forums massively over estimate their sway. Look at the richo thing. We were universally pissed, but barely a ripple in the media and the general supporter base.

I remember hearing Wally's comments on the suggestions fans would email in, and his response was along the lines that the vast majority were uninformed insane and ignorant (my words, it was a decade ago), and there were a few nuggets they would pass on to the appropriate person

I think this view and experience would be typical for all coaches at all clubs

I think Oleg may be in off his tackling effort - something we have been embarrassingly poor at

Whenever I hear Oleg, I think of Olaf!
