Who did the pair that didn’t like this pick want instead at that stage a Whitlock?
Whitlock highlights look bloody ordinary , particularly the one norf got , juggles every mark unless it slips completely thru his hands ,,,bro slightly better and a nice kicking action and mover

I’ll take Armstrong and Faull no problem ,,,,only one I would have liked to see is hynes but better judges took Hotton

What planet you living on?
He doesn't know that it was all fake yet leave him alone. Nearly 60 year later and they still haven't been able to get to land in Tassie let alone the moon. :disrelieved:

A former afl premiership player says that Armstrong slid due to his poor interviews, kid didn't answer all questions and was really nervous and a bit niave, came across as not switched on,had nothing to do at all with his ability, has many clubs wanted leadership types with their 1 pick in the first round,as tigers had so many picks and got 3-4 leadership types it didn't matter.
He said with maturity he will blossom.

Exactly - if all were leaders there'd be no leaders... Gotta have some who need/want to sit back and follow orders.

It's like when people say "you need to get out more" - well if everyone did that, bloody everywhere would be crowded wouldn't it? Gotta have introverts to have extroverts...

He's a lovely kid. Loved standing on the mark for him when doing Craft Drills re goal kicking. His left foot is so sweet.

Haere Ra
Great kid, lovely nature still find it hard to believe he went so high

It looks like the ball just hits his foot so cleanly every time.

So a teenager acts like a teenager and drops from top 10 to 20+. What a damn shame

Matty Lloyd is well known for pumping up his own kids. He said he's a great mark and his goalkicking when he first got him was like 4-5/10 and after all his work on it with him it's more 7-8/10. Not all players can be hard nuts and I'm happy to have a consistent reliable introvert who's good for 2 - 3 goals a game and can be relied upon to kick clutch goals. Lloyd himself was the velvet sledgehammer never hindered him from nearly kicking 1000 goals. Thank christ Saints and Dees never went after him. Think he'll be looked upon as the absolute steal of the draft in years to come as I didn't think he'd last past pick 10. Can't wait for season to start and I'm just as pumped to see as many of the reserves games also. Obviously all of Simms, Faull and Armstrong won't be in best 23 in 3 years time, hopefully the fringe one is smashing it in the magoos so we can get a top 10 pick in a trade instead of getting zip for all our recent departing 1st rounders.

He was our Sunday match day manager for the junior club every week , he's not a dill
Armstrong was the "match day manager"?

If so, that is very cool.

I just look at it and see a guy who is an elite lead mark kick player. Sort of old fashioned. But very good at what he does.
