Routinely belts him? When have they raced? They have never gone head to head in a race and they had two sprints against each other in the semi-final, one time Danger had the ball with Jetta chasing him and vice versa the other. Very, very close but for mine Jetta just had a minor edge. I'd also say that Danger is probably just a little quicker in leg turn over, but Jetta has a longer stride that allows him to get to a more sustainable maximum, also Danger has put on much more muscle in his AFL career than Jetta, which would give Jetta the edge. I'd say 100 and 200 they'd be neck and neck but Jetta would win comfortably over 400 and 800. I'd also say that they'd both be competitive at a national level in those events.

Regards how he used and the relationship between that and how quick he is or looks I think you've got it backwards. Jetta makes it with his pace. He's lucky that he has a coach that chooses to isolate him on the wing like that. I remember him absolutely cutting us up in the first half at Etihad this year. The fact that we'd miss 2 or 3 shots at goal, which led to us pressing harder forward and then Jetta getting space out the back on the wing was very frustrating. I would have played Dempsey on him.

This should settle it:

Noteworthy is that Wilkinson was beaten, because he holds the 20m sprint record

Too many variables in a match.

Just as many on a greasy footy ground, wearing footy boots. It is also pretty clear he didn't get out of the blocks and never got going with his knees not getting up very high. Danger is not a high knee style, pure strength and suited to that grass track.

Dalgleish by the numbers in the VFL this year.

Essendon Football Club has elevated rookie Lauchlan Dalgleish to the senior list for the remainder of the season in place of Marty Gleeson who has been placed on the long-term injury list.

Dalgleish was recruited to the club’s rookie list from North Ballarat U18 in the 2012 rookie draft.

Gleeson has been placed on the long term injury list after undergoing season ending shoulder surgery a fortnight ago.

Dalgleish is a 20-year-old left footer with pace to burn and his poise over the last few weeks at VFL level has seen him consistently named in the best players.

Football Operations Manager Steve Alessio said it was exciting news for Dalgleish.

“Lachie is a speedy half back who has played some very consistent football over the second half of the season at VFL level,” Alessio said.

“After being on our rookie list for two seasons it is really exciting to see him given the opportunity of being elevated to the senior list.”

Dalgleish is likely to be named in the Bombers team to take on North Melbourne with the club losing Jason Winderlich and Courtenay Dempsey in recent weeks through injury.

He is the second rookie to be elevated to the senior list this season after Cory Dell’Olio was elevated under the mid season rookie rule.

Two questions:

Does he tackle well?

Is he a good kick?

His kicking is Hibberd equivalent, maybe a tad more penetration, can seriously hoof it.

He's pretty slight so he's not going to tackle like the bigger blokes, but he's not afraid of contact and goes in hard.

I'm expecting to see moments of the sort of player he could be rather than a massive debut. I reckon the pace of the game will probably catch him out as he tends to canter at VFL level (because he is that quick) and he probably won't get away with in the real stuff.

I'm imagining a Smith or Suckling type?

More Ash Smith than Nick Smith, nothing like suckling.

He's the quickest bloke on our list, probably in the top 5 longest kicks (not convinced he's the best) and fairly capable defensively.

The thing I like is that like Atley, he actually uses his pace at every opportunity, sometimes to his detriment, but he loves a gallop
