The inside word

Tall defender with good ability to read the ball in flight. Comes off his opponent at the right time to affect the contest and uses the ball smartly on the counter-attack. Possesses a penetrating and accurate left foot that can carry the lines, complemented with a strong overhead mark.

Some quality work by Tommy's sponsors last year and this year, I had to go back four pages to find his thread

Anyway, Barrass has been named on an extended bench this week and with Geelong fielding a fairly tall forward line he must be some chance to make his debut. If he does, he'll be the 224th player to appear for West Coast, the third Tom (after Swifty and Racka) and the 7th player to wear the number 37 (after Selwood, Williams, Lyle, West, Mifka and a one-season cameo by Peter Matera).

Barrass suffers heavy fall

Barrass laid on the ground without moving for about a minute but eventually walked off the field unassisted and was assessed by Eagles medical staff, before giving the thumbs-up to teammates as he left training early.

The Big #1 Defender Barrass has inexplicably had to begin season 2017 in the 2nds as the MC chooses to go with Eric McKenzie instead.

We should see big TB in WCE colours come rnd 2.

TB stats v WP WAFL RND 2

Simply stunning tonight v a young plucky St Kilda team.

Was just impenetrable with rock solid spoiling, intercepting marks and precise release kicks from defensive 50.

Won't be moved from our backline for remainder of season.

22 disposals and 10 marks.

TB has had moments of excellence but has also has colors lowered thus far this season.

Clearly our #1 choice for the big forwards, at 22 yr of age, TB is proving to be a valuable asset for our backline. Will only get better.

Averaging 15.4 touches along with 7.6 marks from 7 games in 2017.

That's a lot of touches. Sponsor embellishment?
