Watching Picken the other night and his unorthodox but effective style made me think of Kommer, and whether he could have got to that sort of level if he'd had an injury free run since 2013. I suspect he could have.

Picken was always and is the ultimate old school footy worker. Kommer is no worker. Needs more speed.

I really admire guys like Kommer. He should be proud to have played at the highest level and given it his best shot.

There's at least a couple of blokes leaving (assuming he's done) with him this year that won't be able to say the same.

Kommer has no weapons. End of story. Good state league footballer and done well to get back from injury.

Sucks because from what you see and hear Kommer works relentlessly at improving, I think if he had a good run at it over the past 2-3 seasons he could've become a decent AFL player but he was robbed of those development years and I think it's going to cost him.

I like Kommer, but he always seemed like a depth player - plays his heart out but just doesn't have the raw talent of some of the younger guys coming through. I dont think he'll get much of a chance when you'll have guys like Fantasia, Cotchen, Laverde, Tippa, Long, etc fighting for spots.

While he is undoubtedly gone, he's really impressed me battling through a horrid knee injury. Just to be able to get back and play is a super effort. He also had a really solid back end of the season and was one of our best players through the VFL finals.

At this point you know whether or not you want to keep the player. You also know he holds zero currency in trade.

Just highlights our lack of decisiveness.

Felt like he was a solid AFL player until the bad injury hit. Hoping another club picks him up, championship person. Just remember, O'Brien did all that funny media stuff at the end of last year, delisted. Kommer did it this year, delisted.

Here's hoping we get him a VFL premiership.
