So did Mate ended up getting rookie listed as promised by the club or no because we didn't have a rookie pick this year?
Has not been relisted as they would have had to take the pick in the rookie list to do.

So if we weren’t able to get him extended on the Cat B list again (and I’d be a bit surprised if the AFL allowed that) then we’ve done him pretty dirty

Are you sure that’s correct, i didn’t think category b rookies needed to be drafted. I thought they were just added into the list?

I’m unsure whether Colina could stay as a category b though.

We delisted him, so he would have needed to be re-drafted and there has been no announcement that he was. Until there is something official released, then I'm taking the opinion that he hasn't been retained.

The club already committed to re-listing Colina so it is a fair bet he has been approved as a Cat B rookie again. This would only be fair as he hasn't had the opportunity to play. Looked at from the AFL's perspective, it would be counter-productive to the raison detre of the Cat B rookie program to not allow Colina to be a Cat B rookie. They want converts from other sports, and to disallow it in this case would not send the most welcoming message to future prospects who may be weighing up converting to AFL.

Until otherwise stated, I am going with this.

My only concern would be there is some suggestion he didn't get through the last training session, and obviously if it was a serious back injury again there would be a point the club would just say this is pointless.

List is full. No idea why we had that late pick on the broadcast. Think it was an error

Was a bit of both. As soon as we traded 27 for Roos F1 (hehehe), we had one list spot so got an additional pick at the very end of the draft.

When we traded back in using our F4 to 58 to select Alger, that added pick should have been removed as that list spot had been filled.

That’s fair, odd for the club not to have confirmed it.

It was my understanding that Tylar Young was promoted to the senior list which left the rookie list as follows:

James Trezise
Mykelti Lefau
Jacob Bauer
Seth Campbell
Jacob Blight
Campbell Grey

Cat B:
Oliver Hayes-Brown
Mate Colina

We went into the draft with eight picks and used eight picks, Colina being a category b rookie never would have dictated the picks available to use in the national draft.

I had wondered whether Colina could still be used as a category b rookie following his time already on the list. If the AFL doesn’t allow him to be a category b that would mean he doesn’t have a spot for next season. It is strange there’s been no acknowledgment from the club.

They said on draft night Cat B’s didn’t require a live selection
They don't when they're initially listed but when a player has been delisted they need to be redrafted
