I dont think Watts is a failure, but I definately think he has his
work cut out, hopefully he has a great work ethic and an appetite
to improve himself.

At the moment, he goes to ground too easily, youd give him the
benefit of the doubt at this stage in his career, but if he is going to
ground at this time next year - I wont be cutting him much slack.

Im more interested in another Jack that we are grooming as a forward atm. Could be a bonus.

waitwaitwait....an intelligent reply. Definatly few and far between.

Ghostofgrinter, Yer its fair to say you made sense and i agree. But how patient do we have to be??

You want intelligent replies when your original post was completely stupid?

As for how patient we have to be, longer than 8 games. He needs a couple of full pre-seasons to build up his body which will allow him to play to his full potential, right now is just about getting him games at AFL level which will benefit him massively in the future.

Again, my original reply is my opinion. But small minded people such as yourself take it personel.

Jeez, this is a real failathon now.....

HOW PATIENT??? WTF? Are you implying that you (we) have already been patient? The fact that you are bagging him out after 8 games indicates that you are probably one of the people who wanted him to fail from the start and was never willing to be patient! Why do so many people KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about football players and how they develope? He is (barely) 19 years old, 6 foot 5 and still light as a feather! How do you expect him to compete?

When people say to "give him time" about guys like JW, they don't mean 6-12 months, they mean 2 to 5 years (as someone already mentioned with regard to Jack Reiwoldt)! I've said it before on here, but I'll say it again: Don't expect Jack Watts to be having a big impact on games until 2012-2013. If he is doing a Travis Cloke half way through 2013, then come talk to me and tell me he has failed (and even then he'll only be 22 FFS).

GTFO with your negative bullshit.

It sure is. And you are leading the way it would seem.

Judging a KPF before 3 years experience is just silly.
Enough with the </3 of JW

Not that this means much, but it's nice to see the media starting to come around to seeing Watts' potential.

Herald Sun article:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/pick-1-jack-watts-or-nic-naitanui/story-e6frf9jf-1225895412199

Pick 1: Jack Watts or Nick Naitanui

VERDICT: Watts. Think they will both have stellar careers as you would expect of picks 1 and 2. Naitanui has the potential to change the way ruckmen play the game. But Watts can be another Nick Riewoldt and tall, running forwards are gold.
