Sorry Fellas. Reckon Petruccelle from the Eagles gets it. Had 18 disposals, 7 Mqrks and kicked 5.2.

Why is it whenever our kids have a great game, theres always another young player who plays a blinder?

Now that the world knows Stack is going to be a superstar, there's going to be quite a few small sized Tiger No.44 jumpers running around the country soon.

My guess though, the kids will need an upgrade next season. Grigga will probably retire and our first indigenous player Derek Peardon wore that No.6 proudly back in the 60's. Will be a perfect fit.
Dusty's No'4 in trouble with kids.
"Daddy can i have an xtra 4 on my jumper".

There was a first gamer in Perth I think that kicked 5 so its doubtful either of our boys will get a RS nod this week!

Thats rubbish.Stack has played 3 very good games,In fact on debut his game was outstanding in a losing side.Bet if he played fwd he'd kick a few.Not having a go at Petruccelle but in most if not all cases the RSC look for consistency over 1 game stuff.

They go for consistency if there are no outstanding games or there are 2 that have had similar games. Petruccelle had an oustanding game and will probably get the nod. 7 marks and 5 goals in a wet game is no joke.

Players like Stack and Ross and even Baker (not sure if he qualifys) are too good not to get nominated no need to sweat it they will get thier moment in the sun don’t know why people get so up tight about the rising star nom

I don't want any of them to be nominated, the longer they don't know of the kids. The more chance we have of keeping them.

If you think opp clubs recruit on the basis of rising star nominees you are delusional

If you deduced that from what I said, you're delusional. Don't assume.

You literally said you don’t want them nominated so we had a higher chance of keeping them

Not sure what else you could be trying to say other than you think a nomination will put them on the radar of opp clubs witch is like I said delusional

Because there is the other aspect, we get 3 players who say get a nom, we get 3 different agents for them squeezing the club for an extra say 10 or 20 more. Which means that with salary cap being so tight that we may have to shed someone. Maybe we can't keep a bolton type player. It's not whether they get snatched by another club, its whether we can keep them in this tight cap climate. you assumed that I meant that an oppo club would get them, i made the assertion about cap space. Agents are merciless.

So you want our plays to not play well so we don’t need to pay them as much?

Well there you go!!! I’m not saying it’s right or wrong but what I wrote wasn’t rubbish I’d suggest to look closer to home!

Sydney Stack in talks over new contract

Sydney Stack’s manager and mentor Paul Peos believes he is made for the big stage that awaits on the MCG on Anzac eve.

Coach and former landlord Damien Hardwick pays him the ultimate tribute of declaring he plays the Richmond way.
Yet Hardwick has a bone to pick with the first-year phenomenon, a player considered so high maintenance every other club except Carlton ran away at a rate of knots.
“He’s not shy in confidence. He texts me every day to ask what time training is. I tell him I am the coach, I am not the training coordinator……” Hardwick said today.
“But he has just been a breath of fresh air for our footy club.

“It’s a remarkable story, isn’t it. That he went past all players in the draft.
“How clean is he with the ball? We showed some vision to our players where he stood over the ball when oncoming traffic was coming and he didn’t flinch. That’s the kind of Richmond player we want and he fits the mould really well.”

Sydney Stack hunts a loose ball.

If Stack isn’t the best story in the AFL this year he’s on the podium.
Kicked out of the AFL Academy and WA state academy rep squads despite his immense talent, he was overlooked in 78 national draft picks and 40 rookie selections last year.
Then, as Carlton also circled, he bunked in with coach Hardwick over summer and proved he had the fortitude and professionalism to make in AFL ranks.
So far in three AFL games a player finally picked through the new rookie rule has mixed composure with rugged defence, winning 22 poised possessions in the victory over Sydney.

Peos told the Herald Sun his client was thriving on the routine of AFL after moving to the home of development manager Xavier Clark.
So much so that he has already had discussions with list manager Blair Hartley about extending his contract past the current rookie deal of $75,000 plus match payments.
“You can reference it in regards to footy character and personal character,” he said.
“The footy character has never been any different. When he has a footy schedule he has never wavered much if at all. When he hasn’t got that in his life he finds it a bit tougher with how to fill time. But he loves being part of a team and he is a really driven player.
“Richmond were one of the clubs that did some due diligence work around Sydney and I think like all boys it was pretty hard early but Sydney has been on the move a bit for most of his life anyway. He did miss some elements of his family knowing they were a long way away.
“His dad has been unwell and he has strong family connections but he is really engaged about what is in front of him, and I think the MCG is going to suit this boy very well indeed.
“He has a real knack for the occasion and I reckon he will be looking forward to this one very much.”
