Obama had a tonne of assassination attempts. There was the guy who shot at the White House, the numerous Ricin letters sent and pipe bomb packages. Not to mention a plethora of plots that were foiled before they got off the ground.

The earlier attempt on Trump is remarkable is because he was wounded and it's on film.

Presidential assassination attempts are extremely common. Stephen Sondheim even wrote a musical about them.
