Vance swung by supermarket in Reading, Pennsylvania aiming to spotlight high grocery prices due to Kamala Harris’ policies. One of his sons handed him a carton of eggs which he held while addressing media.
"Eggs, when Kamala Harris took office, were short of $1.50 a dozen. Now a dozen eggs will cost you around $4. Thanks to Kamala Harris's inflationary policies, Pennsylvania actually has seen some of the worst grocery price increases of the entire nation, and again, it's because she cast a deciding what vote on the inflation explosion act," Vance said.
"We can do so much better. We certainly will, and as the father of a couple of kids who eat a whole lot, we certainly need to do better for the next generation.”
Vance received a warm welcome inside the supermarket, where he greeted workers and shoppers. One asked him to sign his book, "Hillbilly Elegy."
Across the street, I observed another supermarket, Villalba Deli & Grocery with two “Harris Walz” signs on display and people outside watching Vance arrive.



There was only a couple of problems:

1. The green signs in the background note $2.99 per dosen not the $4.00 Vance claimed.
2. He's holding 2 dozen eggs not a dozen.

To be fair (and it’s hard to think anything positive about Trump) I do think his rhetoric about the need for vaccines fast did change the industry mindset somewhat. So he can, and should, take a little of the credit.

It’s just a shame he then undermined the effort to get the vaccine widely administered in the US, including downplaying to his mob just how badly sick he himself was with Covid.
