Watched pieces of the VFL last weekend. I thought the Baker comparisons were silly and due to simply being similar height rookie pick from WA.
After watching the VFL game though it was pretty evident Steely has a very comparable skill set. Brave, finds the ball easy enough, tidy punchy kicks. Had a bit of campaigner about him to watch I just adore.
Have the recruiters done it again? A Baker up each end would be something special.
Anyone else watch the game and walk away impressed?

I'd like to see them use him mid-forward from now on at VFL level. He could potentially be the pressure forward we're missing in the senior side. Hunts the ball and the man hard.
Let him learn his craft as a mid , get his 25-30 a week at vfl put some muscle on and have him ready to go
Yeah I'm not saying bring him in straight away. Maybe he could play a few games later in the season and build into a bigger second year like Bakes did.

He's played small forward all year and hasn't got near it. Was drafted as an inside mid, be nice to see him played there.

Fast with a super tank, look at the kid from port, you dont need to be big to play midfield hey
I’ve said it before, I illogically love this bloke and what he can do.
Think early days the game was too quick for him but seems to be slowing down for him a bit. Less fumbly and he’s starting to get into the right spots.
His work to get up the ground, pick up and awkward ball and get it forward was instrumental in Ben Miller’s match winning goal.
Is an interesting case positionally. Has played a few quarters as an inside mid and looks better than as a forward. But think his quickest way into the best 22 is as a small forward; at least initially.

He must post and have a few relatives here also. For a bloke who's yet to show much, been seeing him talked up all year as a superstar.

Going to need a big season next year....
Has to be remembered he is not a specialist small forward. Plenty of reason to think there could be some decent upside there. He is certianly not embarrassing himself.
I'd like to know why he's not playing midfield.
