Why would you talk to the club for an UFA? You go through the manager.

You can believe what you want to as well.

Melbourne has contacted his manager.

You seriously think 16 clubs are enquiring about Stanton's services his manager right now?

I wouldn't be surprised.

Look, I don't doubt your sources within the club but Stanton makes every side in the comp, bar maybe Hawthorn. Some wouldn't go there due to where they are (other bottom 6 sides, Geelong, North, Fremantle) but I wouldn't be surprised to see other sides enquire about him.

That doesn't mean every side in the comp should be trying to sign Stanton.

Well the only other club that has enquired about Stanton re: his services is Melbourne. But you keep believing what you want :thumbsu:

Reckon Stanton would be a bad fit for Melbourne - Thought a few clubs would be interested.

Stanton is frustrating
but in all seriousness, while he does make the odd blunder, and they look shocking, at least he's striving and pushing himself to every contest possible.

there are a number of our players that could learn from his effort and gut running. we'd be a better side if they did (Zaka, Melsham to single a few out)

Its quite comical how many will defend Stanton to the death yet admit he's just a good honest foot soldier. Its probably because he was unfairly maligned in his early days and the Stanton fan boys are going way overboard in protecting someone who didn't deserve the bashing early in his career.

Its funny how a 3 goal game transcends him into the Judd stratosphere when you actually break it down, 1 goal was a Joe the goose, the other he was 20 metres in the clear in the forward line 20 in front and waltzed in and another decent close range snap. Not downplaying his game as it was good but lets not get carried away. He still fumbled plenty, fell over a fair bit and was just the usual Stanton albeit with a bit more cherry on top.

We'd should be praying someone takes him of our hands we so can speed up the rebuild.

And Melbourne would be a bad fit for Stanton. Surely he stays if that's the only interest.
I reckon melbourne will come in for Myers again. And possibly Howlett.
Stanton isn't really what they'd be looking for in a player.

And I don't think we should be so quick to jettison a player who is essentially our get out of jail card.
His running to space or around the ball carrier means we possess the ball rather than kicking to an under pressure player. We aren't good enough to play that game yet.
Pace is a bit of a problem, but his engine isn't, and going into a year where rotations will be capped, he will be important.

He'll blow opponents up with his running next season and if he can use that to get into space in our forward 50 and snag 2-3 goals a game, ill take that. We don't kick enough to turn our noses up at performances like yesterday.

He had a fourth taken away from him because of a poor kick by Joe and had the clearing kick to seal the game out of Defense... His game both on paper and by eye test was excellent.
