What you think of rap = 50 cents generation. If you actually listened to some good hip hop music you would see they can actually play intruments like rJ always says and also they write there own stuff which, if you see some rock lyrics, are much better lyrics than some of the stuff they write.




I agree. 50 = Crap.

Some artists like, Biggie/The Roots/Even Aussie artists like Pegs are pretty good. Just really hard to find good hip hop these days...

While my music taste goes more towards punk and indie, I have time for good, honest rap or hip-hop music. None of this gangsta crap (although, Biggie, Tupac and the original guys were pretty good). I like the good natured stuff, like Jurassic 5 and Matty B.

You've probably heard of Matty B, but if not, I'd highly recommend him. He just talks about hanging with your mates, drinking, and parties. Particularly good if you come from Perth, as there are heaps of references in there.

The standouts are A.D.I (a song about living with ADD), Fridays (guess what it's about!), and Accents (celebrating the Aussie accent). Very easy to listen to, and perfect for playing around people who usually wouldn't like rap or hip-hop. There are heaps of WA references which you might not get, but you should still enjoy it.
