Slow it down, pause it and frame by frame it if necessary... See for yourself...

I believe there's no head-contact and certainly not "medium" impact... I suspect they've just glanced at the full speed and not slowed it down at all to look at it properly and assumed there's head contact and since it's a "rough conduct" charge, the guidelines say this:
"Any high bump which constitutes Rough Conduct that has the potential to cause injury will usually be graded at a minimum as Medium Impact, even though the extent of the actual physical impact may be low." - https://resources.afl.com.au/afl/do...8e9ced332989/2022-AFL-Tribunal-Guidelines.pdf

If the RFC don't challenge this I'll be shocked.
Marls is seriously made of granite , dimma would give him a bonus for that

The only vision is inconclusive. You can not possibly tell that it was high contact. So Christian has guessed. WTF happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Oh that's right common law rights don't apply to AFL sanctions
looks like they want some theatre involving a big club . rates higher than st kilda or footscray games

Looks head high to me

Thats a week suspension for anyone these days. Did you guys see what ryder got suspended for? Picketts was worse and Ryder got 2 weeks.

Choose to bump and hit them high you're gone.
I see whiplash. I don't see contact with the head. If there is another angle that shows contact with the head then there is not much point in appealing.

Are you saying he hit him high because he throws his head back? Seems like genuine shoulder to shoulder contact with no injury to the player he hit. Don't get me wrong, he HIT HIM HARD, but surely you don't get suspended for being made of pure concrete?

On this, that Cats block gets nothing for worse?

I loved that bump,a good old fashioned bump ,it's the over acting by the Hawk player that got him of course the dumb arses in the MRP are gonna get him for that ,it's like when oppo players dive, theump knows they dive but quicker than Quick Draw McGraw to blow a whistle against us.
More corruption from the AFL.

Overacted, then straight back on his feet running to the next contents feeling sore in his BODY from the hit.

This was a perfectly executed hip first body on body bump, exactly the way you would teach someone to lay a bump.

Astonishing decision. But we must realise Michael Christian is not effectively the MRO. All MRO decisions need to be approved by Brad Scott. So this is effectively Brad Scott’s decision. The exact same imbecile responsible for the dissent rule fiasco.

Reckon if we appeal we will lose and he will still get the week - having said that I want us to appeal so that it stimulates discussion on "the bump" and other tried and trusted football actions that are getting legislated out of the game...

I want it appealed so we can see it played out in the media. Can't wait to watch everyone say he is a thug, he should be gone. Then cry about it when the bump is outlawed and how the game is being ruined.

The AFL and Fans hate Richmond so much, they're happy to see him miss a game for a football action.

I will also say, if he knocked him out then 100% he should miss a game,

So the hit was should to inside off shoulder. Bit of mayo by the Hawk. It was obviously a shepherd. Looks totally normal and by the book.

Marlion raised his elbow coming out of the hit, which looked bad until slowed down. I thought he'd hit him with raised elbow. But not on the slomo.
