the fact that it barely even hit him high if it did at all (which is questionable with the evidence) and the fact he didn't get a single injury to his body or his head, means this should've been graded low. the rule says head high bump will "usually" be graded medium (example leading with an elbow at the head), and this is an exact incident that can be excused from that rule due to the outcome and the fact Pickett didn't lead with an elbow or jump into it. it was an arm to arm bump, in play, that resulted in zero injuries, and the supposed high contact was so questionable that it rightly wasn't even called a free. embarrassing for the sport that this is a week

All members and supporter’s should all boycott the game so what if we miss out on revenue it goes to propping up the shit teams like norf and fold coast anyway and make the afl suffer it’s the only way to get through to these **** sticks at afl hq if I ever saw Gil in the street I would abuse the **** out of him

It’s just so arbitrary. Everything about the way this game is officiated is completely random and about interpretation. What’s medium compared to low? What’s high to medium? Who the hell knows?

This decisions is disgusting. The reasoning is ludicrous in this case. How does a perfectly executed hip first to the body side bump that makes at worst very minor head contact constitute a potential to cause injury suspension? For heavy contact to the head or pushing someone at full speed into a goal post and the player isn’t significantly hurt, I can understand the use of that provision. For minor secondary head contact(if that) who the **** is that going to hurt?
This is the 3rd report of 3 where Pickett has copped the worst possible penalty for the offence, and in all 3 cases he could have been given no penalty without causing one murmur.
It is like the AFL have told him you have been imprisoned for assault, we will give you a chance but if you so much as do anything remotely borderline we come down on you like a ton of bricks.
There are stacks of cases like this where the MRO just concludes his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and that is the end of the matter. That is what should have occurred here.

Personally I favour Gillon being ceremonially speared through the hip by Stack at the end of the opening dance, just like Pemulway did to Governor Phillip. Given he's a scion of the squattocracy, he and his family have made enough money off the dispossession of Indigenous Australians that he would deserve it anyway without this outrage. How do you sit with a player potentially missing a Grand Final for doing exactly what Pickett did?

That just should not be a suspension. Whether the rule is wrong or the ruling or both, there is no way that should result in a suspension.
