That's nonsense. Our game plan is to get it in there quickly, and often to kick it long in there, but of course the plan is to target our forwards as much as possible, and to kick it so it advantages them over their opponent. If we have a man free inside 50 of course they are told to look for him.

very good.out plan is based around getting the ball in deep forward 50 as fast as possible. Aim is for forward to mark or create a crumb. I presume that is what you are saying. And beign professional AFL footballers they intend to hit our players. All very good, don't disagree.

But what I, and some others, are saying is that we focus on moving the ball deep to a tall, or substitute (Dusty/Caddy) target. The style of player Lennon is does not lend itself to this. Thus he doesn't 'fit the game plan'. And I think this is a bit of a problem. Because Lennon's marking and kicking could be utilised to make our forward line more flexible and unpredictable, whilst getting the ball in more accurately through his kicking. If he isn't playing well in the VFL then OK. But he seems to be doing well. So he isn't playing AFL mainly because he isn't a tall marking target, but is a mid marking target, and he doesn't provide speed and crumbing.

Crap? Really? Sure he didn't rack up stats but....

Go back and look at crunch times in games like the one against Collingwood. Tell me who kicked the ball to Martin and Butler when others may have blazed away....
Well crap might be a bit harsh, but 3 marks and 1 goal across his two games this year was just not enough. FWIW I would really like to see Ben get a run of games, and his VFL form demands a call up, but I do worry he is running out of chances to prove his worth to our side. Also, I can only see it getting harder for him to cement a spot next year as guessing we will be targeting at least one tall to slot into the forward line. If he can get back to the form he had at the end of 2015 it would add so much to our side! He's great overhead and a reliable shot for goal, just needs to do more of it

Just watched his highlights video, his goalkicking is so confident, he never looks like missing. We could definetely use that in the seniors. Bring him in for Lloyd. Lennon is much better overhead too, and although he's not fast, neither is Lloyd.

Took a ripping mark for his third. Definitely should come in

Still needs to improve his tank and overall fitness. You cannot play a bloke who is blowing after 2.5 quarters in a vfl game. Our game plan involves constant manic run and defensive pressure which he aint got.It was obvious when we replaced Elton with Butler that our game plan is passed /different to the traditional norm of having a second hit up forward, especially if they're slow.Ben is a long way off getting a game,bc four years on a list with poor motor is not good enough ATM. If he can improve in these deficiencies he has a chance to survive, but with us looking like getting a Schache type next year the further down the pecking order he goes.Prove us wrong Ben,but until then i'm not losing any sleep over it happening.

Long way off from getting a game? I'll come back when team selection drops Thursday week.

Shitty time to have the bye for him

Yeah was hitting good form. Seven goals in two games. Probably needed a freshen up though. Confident he will get a call up for the Sydney game.

Don't often agree with you imposter but you're bang on the money with this. It's not his forward skills that are lacking, it's the complete lack of defensive effort and tank.
