I'd sign him up for 2/3 depending on work ethic. If the club sees him as a 'sure thing' based on his commitment and intensity on the track, give him 3 no worries. His talent alone is easily worth 2 more years. I agree it was a putrid decision to drop him.

I've heard Ben is worried he will sit in the VFL for another 2 years if Richmond recruit Johnson, Treloar, Aish, Bennell etc, etc. I'm told its nothing to do with money. Let's remember, he played only 2 and half quarters at AFL level in the first 15 rounds this year and I'm sure he wouldn't want to spend the majority of next year playing in the VFL.

I say, how about he back himself in and say I will play 'regardless' of who comes into the team. The same applies to all players in the fringe.

We have a number of players on our list that left their club for the same reason that they didn't wanna play vfl. They all go alright just quietly in a team that finished 5th

It was mentioned by Damien Barrett on The Footy Show that Richmond are taking their time signing him up, and are offering less than what Lennon wants to save money for a free agent. It is Damien Barrett, so make of that what you will!
