Im kind of with Stinger on this as I don't think its anything overly bad, just a bad look.

Not much different to every dickhead shoving their opponents head into the ground when they ping someone for HTB tbh.

Cause its gone to the tribunal you can be assured hell be getting something. The AFL will make sure of it.
It’s also applied inconsistently. Selwood pretty much eye gouged someone and raked his studs on an opponent’s leg against the Dogs, drawing blood and copped a fine only. Viney probably deserves a week or two but the double standards that protect the stars and punish accidental injuries from collisions give me the shits.

Not a great look but seriously it was a few metres off the ball and how many on here saw the incident during the game?

Buddy threw an elbow at a player and got off as there was no injury, a much clearly worse look than Vineys. By that precedence its a fine

But this is the AFL so who the **** knows

I get where Stinger is coming from too, in terms of comparison with other stuff.

I just think the system is wrong.

Hard to assess the force used in these ones, as opposed to bumps and strikes.

Is Collins not fighting back because there's no force or because there's a lot of force? I suspect it's the latter.
Viney is incredibly strong. There’s footage of him around benching 150. For a guy that size that’s serious strength. He’d have had his full weight on him and he wouldn’t able to be shifted.

If it was anyone else id probably be more emotionally invested in this than what I am, but as its Viney, whatevs, give him whatever. Not really fussed either way.

Only bit im concerned about is if they give him something stupid like 4 or 5 weeks. State of the game is a shambles if so. Id think 2 weeks max.

360 convo just now reckoned fine or maybe a week. Surprised me a bit actually.

Zac Williams only got a week for slamming Ben Keays into the concrete siding at Docklands. With all the protection of the head focus, that was way worse.

Using the gradings he probably gets 1-2 but maybe the AFL will pull the 'potential to cause serious injury' out of their arse.

I agree that the system is ****ed

During the game incidents such as an accidental head hit when going for the ball shouldn't be worth weeks even if it causes injury. Whereas attempted striking should incur a suspension as even if there isn't an injury the player had tried to cause injury

It should always be the intent not the result imo

But that isn't the way the game is adjudicated unfortunately

Haven’t seen the incident but **** it’s nice to see someone in red and blue being a campaigner for a change.

Yeah i know it’s not tough and off the ball and bad look blah blah blah but I’ve seen our blokes cop a bunch of that niggly shit and suddenly we start giving it back and we win by 100- coincidence? Of course not.

No wonder Goody gave him two votes!

Carn Jack!

Viney getting "frustrated" in a 100 point win reminds me of Craig getting fired on his day off in Friday

Shithouse look, really shithouse look.

He's obviously frustrated with something, either how he's playing or something behind the scenes. He played cranky all game even though he was playing shithouse.

A week break I'd imagine.

Absolutely they punish the wrong stuff, I still reckon Dangerfield was stiff round 1 (And I can't stand him) but Selwood got off with some really dirty acts against the Dogs.

Good time to make an example of someone like they have with ANB, trengove and whoever else I've forgotten.

100% Danger didn't deserve his suspension. If he didn't go at the player that hard the same guys calling for his head in the media would have been highlighting his half assed effort in their loss

But I was happy he missed our game even if it was bullshit

Incident looks pretty bad.
"Looks".

Just optics... and the AFL are all about 'optics'.

Except for when it comes to Us, apparently.

Demons defender cops sickening eye injury

History Repeating!!!

Gill, where have you been.? In Hawaii, like one of you mates, while Rome burned.

One rule for THEM, and one for us little plebs, Hey Gill...

Him missing games is good for the team. That act deserves 3 or so but I don’t really care how many he gets.

As for what he did, I’ll avoid histrionics but that’s not a guy making a split second bad decision. He’s doing that for 10 seconds and laying into Collins.

There’s been something off about Viney since he came back. Hope he’s able to sort it out

Viney's 'full weight', isn't very much at all. So unless the Sun has greatly magnified our gravity, then Viney would be easy to shift, for a healthy hombre.

Sadly I agree. I do want to see him get through it though.
