was watching Mark Jackson's open mike last night as it popped up in my recommended and I hadn't seen it in years while remembering it was pretty funny originally, and I tell you, hes actually a genius, could see the way this sport was going over a decade ago. spooky how accurate he was about a lot of things.

I’ll start by saying he probably deserves weeks just cos of how bad the look was and how bad the impact could have been if he really pushed down into Collins.
However, how’s the tribunal inconsistency? Buddy and others swing elbows into blokes heads and get off while Collins gets momentarily annoyed at Viney’s treatment and plays out the game as if nothing happened. Bizarre hearing too by all accounts, a real case of the AFL wanting a suspension due to the act rather than outcome.
I’m happy that viney is out of the team for midfield balance, so we should just take the outcome imo. If it was another player or ahead of a GF, you’d appeal it for sure.

I'm happy. The guy has been playing like cr@p for weeks now. Last week he gave away 5 free kicks! most of them him trying to fend off, do too much and get caught holding the ball. Not to mention his ball use in previous weeks has been to match fixing like levels. Happy for him to get 2, would've preferred 3.

Don't mind them suspending him, not a hanging offence, but I am also getting sick of the all the off the ball rubbish.
Would be good if they just stamped it all out, but unfortunately I don't think we will ever get consistency in the decisions as I think the people running the comp see the AFL as part of the entertainment industry not the sports industry. More worried about having the crowd pleasers out there week in week out than the integrity of the comp.

Yeh they stamped out all the big stuff, but haven't gone hard enough on all the bitchy little stuff of the ball that used to lead to someone getting knocked out for being an annoying little twat. Now the twats are protected because they know their victims can't respond. Never liked that stuff, even though I did it a lot myself as a kid playing in defence. It isn't what I watch AFL for.
Now if two player contest the ball and one ends up with a broken jaw then play on. That is just tough contested footy and sometimes accidents happen.

Yeah but that's not what they're doing, they got rid of all the big stuff and now the accidents and the little shit.
Games far more watchable with a bit of niggle or else it's all just rinse and repeat with different jumpers.
