Yeah you can’t really pin the loss on him. Poor bloke will be kicking himself though

Not halving that contest with Cotch there to provide support on the ground was worse than the miss though. That one hurt
agreed, letting herpes mark that 50/50 ball was unacceptable. jack's 50th "cute" thing that didn't work in a row was far worse, he has form there.

I had to wonder why Cotch didn't impact that contest. Just jogged in looking for the crumb out the back.

It's not just missing the entire sticks from 35 out, he also lost that contest with Heppell that led to the Bombers goal.

I mean what's the hope he's going to become? At best he's another chase and tackle space guarding forward. That gameplan worked 5 years ago, not anymore.

He does do the basics. He did everything right bar the shithouse kick. It is one he will learn from.
I said do the basics WELL. Not just do the basics. As i said, not much upside in him so it is his role to the basics well not average. He gets a lot of games this year over a lot of other players too. Consecutive too. So he has had plenty of time all year.

There could be plenty of improvement in a committed 22yo role player. He has had 3 shots at goal and converted 2 of them. Runs well, tackles hard and doesn't get scared when facing a stampede. He was making that kick with tired legs. It was a very poor kick and an obvious choke in the situation, but Mansell can work on that. So there is your upside. If he kicks it you would be singing his praises, and his earlier set shot showed he clearly has it in him.

Its a professional full time sport. 2 minutes left, 5 points up, just need a point. Kicking it out on the full 35m out is just unacceptable.

Making errors is not unacceptable at Richmond. The only thing that is unacceptable at Richmond is not learning from those errors and improving. You especially shouldn't hold it against a player who has never been in anything like that position before. All players make errors.

Talk about a Hero to Villain moment.

Kid was a a basic set shot away from being the highest goal scorer on the ground & icing a big game & ended up possibly ending his career based on the comments here. I've never really seen the appeal as him as a forward, its always been a defender or delist, but in saying that - kid could & should have kicked 3 tonight.

I don't blame him for the loss though, & no one should.

Blame Dimma.

You want to play Clarke & Mansell in the forward-line in front of Noah Cumberland, then you need eat your share. He's always talks about "Richmond beating Richmond", but when he says it, it never sounds like he is talking about himself. How ANYONE can possibly think that Judson Clarke or Mansell should be getting a game in our forwardline ahead of Noah Cumberland, especially while both Lynch & MRJ are out, is beyond me.

I herd Dimma say yeah he knows he should have done better with that , but atleast he was in the right position in play lol when not playing auskick.
Dimma loves mansell and will never drop him. He can never do any wrong. Cumberland meanwhile was BOG in the vfl win, and when asked about it in the presser, dimma couldnt give a shit and said he needed to work on structures. Wtf dimma wake up we are losing in the seniors ffs. We need goal kickers.

Mansell didnt even need to kick the goal. Just a point. Our standards are not that high…

But yeah I agree, the root of it is that dimma keeps playing certain players over others and treats some differently. Its bloody annoying. Too many favourites.

The main problem is that mansell isnt a forward. Hes a great lock down defender. We are playing him forward cos we forgot to recruit any small tackling forwards with skill when we traded/lost all our other good ones over the years. Its been a fail for recruitment and trading.

tbh i dont think the younger players really care for him much, can you really ever remember Dimma having a great "on-field" moment with a young player like we so often used to see him do with Dusty, Rance, Cotch, Jack back in the 2012-2020 era? I think the age gap in our group has caused a divide - the old dudes and the young guys.
