I dont think so, this trade was done a week ago.

All players just agree to it now, plus the papers was finnaly finalise today.

You a regular on one of the Nuggets boards? Inside word there was it was only proposed in the few last days, agreed to in the last 24 hours and finalised at 12pm RMT Tuesday. Nuggets originally were exploring three way deals involving Chicago, Dallas or Portland (mostly involving Nene, not Miller... apparently one deal involved no Nuggets starters, which Portland pulled out of) and all three umm'ed and ahh'ed, so they decided to just deal direct, which to me, sounds like the brawl sped things up.

As a Nuggets fan, I'm sad to see Miller go, IMO he's an underrated PG, but there were times when he didn't fit in with the Doug Moe offense and it would just stagnate. Ivy will either fit perfectly into the plan (ala Michael Adams circa 1990) or the whole team will combust.

The Nuggets pick (the other one was an acquired Dallas pick) has been #1 protected as well, just.in.case.

Wish we'd been able to move Boykins on though, he's useless.

A strange deal for the Nuggets IMO. I thought they were heading the right way, they had a good mix in all positions and it was important to have a pass first PG. Now nobody will be passing the ball and Iverson and Melo will be fighting over shots.

Obviously we have to wait and see how this turns out but on the surface it looks like a bad trade for Denver IMO.

They'd want to at least go pretty deep into the playoffs to justify all the huge, lengthy contracts they got on board. Is it me, or are the Nuggets the new Jailblazers? All talent, questionable chemistry.

Actually no, regular on the sixers board where our inside source been giving us updates of whats been going on inside 76ers orgganisation.

:D

Yeah, he wont that much use with Iverson playing 35 plus minutes on Denver.

But its all worth it for ring man :thumbsu:

still think hes a shoot first PG, but has the ability in any game to pour in 10 assists.
wouldnt give too much credence to all star games.

He is definitely a shoot first PG but he isn't a hog when he has a good support cast. His ppg will go down a lot and his assists will go up a lot too. Mind you 4th qtr, game on the line expect to see him shooting the ball.

But who would you rather shooting for the game in the 4th quarter anyway? Mind you, Melo is clutch as well.

Jeez those two will be dangerous, from what I read Iverson already averages like 8 assists a game, he's hardly shoot first, he's just has some dud team mates.

I reckon he wants to win.

Then again when you add an absolute balls to the wall superstar like Iverson to your team and you only lose Joe Smith, Andre Miller and a couple of future picks, then it just has to be a plus.... doesnt it?

It's like adding Matthew Lloyd to carlton and saying "oh well this won't work becasue he'll be fighting voer goals with Fevola."

You'd still KILL to have those two options.

Agreed. Took 15 shots in his 1st game and currently has 13 shots for 20 points and 10 assists at 3 qtr time today.

With Philly this year he had over 20 shots in 13 of 15 games with 3 of those games being 30 or more.

He wants to win and when Melo and Smith come back this team will be scary.

AI's average since going to denver:

25 ppg
11 apg

Early freakin Boykins is averaging close to 30 a game thanks to AI and he's normally depth. AI is making Denver's bench competitive (remember, Kmart, Camby, Melo and Smith are the normal other 4 starters and they're all out).

When Melo, Smith and Camby get back it's gunna be MURDER.

I'm really gunna like this Denver team, I can feel it.
