I almost always choose fox but when it's so blatantly obvious they are calling it off TV then why bother. This is a 40k plus crowd, maybe send your commentary team across. Adelaide isn't that scary, they might even enjoy it

It especially shits me when they're pretending otherwise.

Don't ask your boundary rider where to go out in Adelaide when I can see the reflection of the screens in Kerry's glasses.

90% of the time I'll go with the crew at the ground, but listening to Justin Langer's vacuous bullshit it tough.

Fox doing really low budget tonight. Normally they have like a studio setup for their offtube matches. Today it’s just the studio commentary setup only

Fox calling offtube from a studio because they didn’t show case they being at the ground like they do when they are actually calling from the ground.

It’s the big NYE clash and they can’t be bothered to send commentary to the ground. At least 7 send Langer & Blewett from the test match in Melb yesterday to AO, Fox sent Isa & KoK from Melb to Sydney.

I feel like if Fox isn’t at the ground for matches, they should just take the world feed from 7 (like they did during the early days of the first contract or during covid)
Blewett drew the short straw and had to drag out the trundle bed for Langer

Be careful what you wish for they could have paired him up with uncle Haydo's

It's so wild to me that this guy (Langer) was a really successful coach, with the national team but also over in WA, yet he has the most vapid analysis of any paid commentator I think I've ever heard in any sport. Goes out of his way to do anything but provide a deep analysis of the game.

I can handle Vaughan in small doses but he’s got a Pietersen like talent for dropping a real turd-in-punch bowl comment every now and then.

His latest being to have a go at South Africa for, effectively, having the indecency to simply win most of the games the current calendar has presented them in the WTC.

So in addition to 4 day tests which would rob us of the drama of this match just completed, a two tier system which would mean one of the world test championship finalists wouldn’t even be there and another of the two teams still capable of making it (SL) would also be in tier two (assuming Australia, England, NZ and India made up tier one which would have been the case when he said it based on rankings) he wants teams who simply don’t play as much test cricket to not have a chance to play in the final because they…. Don’t play as much test cricket.
Feel like he brings every conversation back to England / Bazball…very repetitive

Mark Waugh doesn’t like coming to Adelaide 😂

Unpopular view but I actually think Mark Waugh's in-game analysis from tactics to technique is quite good and I like him.

Obviously does not do much prep other than checking the averages of NSW players but for ball-by-ball is one of the better ones.

My preferred line-up Ponting, Waugh and Gilchrist. Maxwell, Finch and Healy for the future.

Kayo is ****ing shit. I'm about to lose my mind.

The buffering today is causing me to fall minutes behind play by the end of a 2 hour session. Their solution, after you've cleared your cache and showed them a 75mbps speed test? "Just lower your settings to HD only."

Yep, that's why I pay 35 bucks a month you ****in idiots.

7 has been the better of the two since the rights moved, and is still the best today.

Imagine paying for worse coverage.
Even if the commentators are better (which is debatable) it still doesn't make up for having to put up with ads after every over. That alone makes Fox better coverage by an absolute mile

Gilly seems to get away with being pretty hopeless. Should get the same flak Shane Warne rightly got for letting personal feelings cloud judgment.

Always the first one to go after Cummins when the top order bombs out. And rather than just calling a blatantly straightforward wicket, he butchers a great moment with vibe-killing wishful thinking:

Nothing special by JB but still 10x better (albeit with help from Ricky Ponting):

Ultimately what you get now is the potential of one good commentary team split apart into two mediocre teams. Problem is recent history (i.e. the end of the Ch9 era) suggests the alternative might be an assembly of the worst of both worlds.

Prime Bill Lawry would have nailed that moment.

7 having an umpire as part of their broadcast came useful during yesterdays match with several controversial DRS decisions etc.

Even espncricinfo used what Simon Taufel said on 7’s broadcast
Just on this, today’s pre match included a segment where Simon Taufel talked about how the DRS provider Virtual Eye (hired by Fox) had used the hitting zone for LBW based on the top of the stumps and not the top of the bails which was changed in 2021. Simon confirmed with ICC general manager of cricket that they want the top of the bails.

If they had used the correct zone then Jaiswal would have been out and not umpires call at the MCG.

This is type of investigation and information is somthing that the Host/World Feed Fox should be doing
