Calling from the studio aside, I do find it odd to see people criticise the Fox team for being too Blokey/Triple M in their approach to commentary, but at the same time will talk about how good it was when Channel 10 had the BBL.

In terms of presentation style (once again not talking about the whole calling from the studio thing, which is horrendous), there is very little difference between 10 and Fox.

Except the producer...

The old Channel 10 producer went to Seven, and the old Channel 9 producer (Brad McNamara) went to Fox.

one can argue, it was a bit more of a novelty when ch10 had the rights. Plus you need the right people/personalities to pull it off without complaints.

Ch7 have raised their game with their Big Bash coverage with much better quality commentators plus they are at all games live.

In previous years they had Jason Richardson, Andy Maher and Lisa Sthalekar commenting the BBL and they are WBBL standard.

It looks like they will be raising their game with their AFL coverage too, they have a new head of sport who has brought a broom.

How much did they pay in getting the rights to the cricket only to cheapskate the product and pretty much ruin it? I mean I hate ads as much as anyone but having commentators with no idea what's going on whenever the ball goes up in the air is just ridiculous

7 is paying less than what they paid when they first got the cricket (with a clause of paying more if conditions are met) the deal is more than before so it was all Fox paying more compared to 7

I keep Fox/Kayo on mostly for the overseas cricket test series and for the ODI/T20 games that Ch7 don't cover here

They have lost the rights to the World Cups, if they lose the rights to the Sri Lankan series I might have to rethink it.

I think broadcasters deal with the home board, SLC in this case.
