How has MacFarlane been?

I've loved him. He's not doing crass, Family Guy style jokes. But they're a lot cleverer than I think people were expecting.

No standout film this year. Unfortunately I haven't seen Amour (Margaret and David 5 stars each and Ebert gave top rating) so must be okay. I probably rated Zero Dark Thirty the best out of what I saw.

Yeah but it was paying 45/1 so was worth a punt. I got on Lincoln at about 9/1 as well.

See i dont get that- they killed the most dangerous terrorist on earth (albeit with a little bit of torture thrown in). Would have thought the yanks would love that movie for that..

The torture got over played in the media, mainly by politicians. Too much controversy over the film for it to get the award. Would of given it to the Master but wasn't even ****ing nominated

Crazy it wasn't that bad imo. You look at Django now that had some tough scenes to watch!

Agree. I thought the whipping scene was worse then the torture scene.

He's not telling Billy Crystal style "set up-punchline-laugh" jokes. Colbert would do about as well.

Stoked for Ang Lee . Brilliant director and well-deserved. It's looking more and more likely that Lincoln won't get it having lost Best Adapted to Argo and Best Director to Lee.

Also you look at the performance she put in Winter's Bone. Even though that's irrelevant it is irritating now she'll be known for this.
