You can pull them from club annual reports going back aways, most club wikipedia sites list them going back to the 90s, some to the 80s when membership started

Sure, you could make an argument for a higher population and a more engrained 'membership mentality,' but GWS and Gold Coast are doing well. Teams getting flogged, in their first two seasons, in smaller markets, and they've hit 10k already?
The Swans sustainable support base came from their GF appearance in 1996. I believe the same will happen to GWS once they make a grand final, but until then it will be tough going.
