AFLW Club membership record

The AFL is pleased to announce a new AFLW club membership record of 76,356 in 2024.

The AFLW club membership number surpasses the all-time record of 75,568 set in 2022 (Season 7), and sees a 4.2 per cent year-on-year increase from 2023.

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon said the record number was a testament to the growth of the NAB AFLW competition and passion of our fans.

“In only our ninth season of the NAB AFLW competition, we’ve seen the league go from strength to strength and are delighted that fans have continued to cement their support of the competition by becoming members of their clubs to reach this record number,” said Mr Dillon.

“On behalf of the AFL, we thank all club members and fans who attended an AFLW game this season and showed their support for their clubs.

“It’s an exciting week of AFLW, with an expected sold out NAB AFLW Grand Final this Saturday and the first ever to be played under lights.”

Across the competition, nine clubs delivered AFLW membership records – Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Geelong, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Richmond and West Coast Eagles.
Additionally, Gold Coast SUNS and Sydney Swans saw an increased membership number year-on-year.

Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Geelong, Gold Coast SUNS and North Melbourne also delivered over 10 per cent growth in their AFLW membership tally year-on-year.

2024 also saw an increase in the average AFLW match attendance across the season, up 2.1 per cent year-on-year, with a total attendance figure reaching 263,452 across the NAB AFLW home and away season.

The AFLW club membership record follows a record 2024 AFL club member record.
