They are probably retired players who were no longer subject to AFL rules and compelled to appear.

The general discussion has been that players were duped, Dank went rogue etc. I am uncomfortable that under this scenario, we have players suspended, and officials, except for Dank get off scott free. And I referring to punishments under the WADA code, not action taken by sporting codes.

Logically this is the only way it can work.

If the players were duped, then that relies upon Dank substituting substances without their knowledge and presumably anyone else's. If Dank is a rogue, then by definition no other official can be found guilty.

On the other hand if Dank is not a rogue, and other officials had knowledge of the scheme, then yes they should all face punishment. However that makes the players duped line implausible. You now have 6 or 7 officials knowing what is going on and none of the players having any idea, an no official raising any concerns in their presence.

You have no idea whether Reid did or not - I'd be surprised if there wasn't regular contact between harcourt and reid after Oct 2011.

I think both AFL and Wada code have provisions for that.

I understand the provisions - the question is how serious are Anti-Doping authorities in pursuing officials - There is strong suspicion that more than Dank could be culpable.

Yes, and what was the result of that matter? The product which Reid questioned was found not to be banned by WADA/ASADA.

That matter has no bearing whatsoever on whether Dr Reid should have further advised Dr Harcourt if and when he became aware of any other different drugs being used at EFC.

He clearly was concerned at AOD9604 and mentioned it in his letter. The gist I got was less concerned with the legality (he trusted Dank??) than the effects it may or may not have on the players.

Was he unaware of his role under the AFL-anti-doping code were he is effectively the gatekeeper for the players? He certainly didn't care enough for their health to stop taking a pay check.

I can see why Reid is a doctor and you aren't - Two harmless substances - After all i've read about long term health effects, cancer etc,etc, etc, it may have been prudent for Reid to contact the AFL's CMO - I can only deduce that all the ravings about health effects are faux outrage - After all, Reid is criticised for reporting concerns about substances/s used at EFC - Reckon I'd back Reid's judgement before others.

Which is why with the modern day movies, you never walk out of the theatre at the credits. There's almost always an additional scene to play out and it's usually the teaser for the next episode in the saga.

So I'm sitting here with stale, cold popcorn and a warm, flat, sugary, over-sized and nearly empty bevvy, waiting for the drawn out first movie to end. So I can see the teaser for the next one and we can all wax lyrical about the juicy sequel.

But in the other, well publicised interview a uear or so ago, Dank freely referenced TB-4, which is a prohibited substance.

That's the value of the Dankster, we don't have to make claim and counter claim up ourselves - he provides them freely and gladly.
