Is this trade the most incompetent deal in Lions' history of trading?
Effectively we've lost Aaron for a seven picks jump in the second
round. Whoever did this deal should be sacked now. No questions asked.
This is pathetic from a reputedly professional organisation.

Shatock gone for a third round pick. Port must be laughing at our
incompetence. We've been scre.wed deep in the ass without lubricant.

I think we're under-estimating the salary cap factor. Retirements will help, as will Vossy going onto the veteran's list (as i believe he will?) - but reality is we've been darn lucky to retain the list over the past few years. Shatts wouldn't have been on a fortune, but losing him might save us a lazy $100k and that could be a decent factor in the decision.

Former Brisbane Lions player in critical condition after excavator rollover

It was not known how long Aaron Shattock had been pinned under the digger when he was found on his property on Sunday afternoon.

Former Brisbane Lions player Aaron Shattock was admitted to hospital in a critical condition on Sunday after he was pinned under an excavator on his Gold Coast property for an unknown period.

Emergency services arrived at the Worongary property about 1.30pm to find the 44-year-old trapped under the heavy machine.

A Queensland Police spokesman said Shattock had been working on the property when the digger rolled and trapped him underneath “for a while”.

Paramedics said Shattock had suffered major life-threatening injuries to his chest. He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition mid-afternoon.

Shocking news. Hoping for the best and that he recovers as well as possible.
