Melbourne's lavish west
I have been reading all your threads and comments/replys to mine and you are all so full of bloody good words and confidence towards the bulldogs. Theydo not deserve praise whatsoever. They are a bunch of boys imitating being a football side. They should be charged for fraud. They are crap and there is no hope this year of playing finals, WE ARE FINISHED!!. FINAL WORD: LIBBA HAS TO GO ... NOW!!!!

You a Dogs supporter? Don't know what comments you're talking about but I don't see a lot of people heaping false praise on the guys. And they are not 'crap'.

We don't need supporters like you.

I'm not denying that it's been a shocking start to the year but I thought we'd put all this awful negativity behind us.

We are 0-5.

Nothing good about that. Nobody likes the team they love to lose, EVER, and we are all getting frustrated.

BUT, anybody who watches this team on a regular basis and follows the progress of the youngsters at Werribee knows very well that there is plenty of things to be positive about. I would say there is much more to be positive about than in years like 94-95 or 2000, when we were good enough to make the finals, but did not really look like we were about to step up and challenge for the flag in the near future.

We have a list that only needs; time to develop, the odd good pick up from another club, and continued good drafting from Clayton to be an absolute force.

If you are a Bulldog person that has watched the club over any length of time, and the above is not obvious to you, then i truly feel for you, cos you are missing out on enjoying all the signs that indicate that the club is about to embark upon its greatest ever era.

Don't think because someone sees what is coming that they are accepting defeat, or they are not getting as pissed off as you about the losses. That is not the case.

As a supporter I don't only go to watch the Bulldogs win, the whole aim of having supporters is to have them follow you through the ups and downs. Sure I get extremely frustr8ed wen we start losing but it doesn't make me lose passion for them at all.

When we are in a position like this you can't just start dragging everyone that you think didn't do all that great although I believe that libba played well last night.

As a club we have a lot to look forward to. Look at all the talent rising up. Danny Giansiracusa, Jordy McMahon, Mark Alvey, Luke Penny(although injured), Mitch Hahn, Shane Birss, Pat Bownden, Lindsay Gilbee, the list of players coming up and taking a regualr spot in the side goes on and on! Most of these guys didn't have more than a few, if any games last yr.

I also don't like the way people go to the football and scream at our palyers. Last year I had an old guy sitting behind me that constantly bagged our players (especially nathan Brown) and didn't like to admit it when we did something ryt. He annoyed everyone around our area. On one occasion I yelled back at him and asked if he could do any better, that shut him up for a while. Put urself in the players shoes, I doubt you could do any better!

There were plenty of positives to come out of last night. Anyone who thinks we just went through the motions is deluding themselves.

Positives
Jordan MacMahon has improved each game after his mistakes against North-I am very glad they didnt drop him although I was critical of his selection over others in the first place.

Shane Birss has impressed by willingly taking on a big job each week and never shirking an issue. His calmness in a tricky situation is a rare skill.

Trent Bartlett has, against my better judgement, found a spot that suits him down back.

Robert Murphy although short on condition has proven himself to be the sort of quality player that can walk into the side and provide rebound of halfback-like to see him carry the ball and break the lines more often.

Ryan Hargrave will be a long term defensive option with the pace to go with mediums and the height and stretch to play on taller marking forwards.

Tackling has been much better this year

Finally we have been playing lots of kids and exposing them to all sorts of game plans.

Negatives

Patrick Bowden. Do we know where to play this kid?

Rohan Smith Has gone backwards this year.

Skills are awful. Not just goal kicking, its not kicking to contests, not handballing to two-on-ones, all those sorts of things. Is it confidence?

Over all though we ARE going forward

ugg boot

the ugg boot just keeps improving down back! I have found it difficult to heckle him (in a friendly manner cause he's a good bloke) over the past few weeks.

LONG LIVE THE UGG BOOT!

Larry 6, do you happen to be one of those people who put the scarf out the window when we lose? Larry suggest you pull your head out of the sand and smell the roses!!. Again, you are a supporter of mediocrity!! If you don't need supporters like me, then have a look at membership numbers at the moment. There are others just like me who have not joined!!! I'm still a member!!
Don't base your view on other people's opinions.

The opinions expressed above are not shared by the authentic Dogs_R_Us, so please do not put ME on ignore.

These are testing times for everyone, including the poor old coach, and we have to go through the bad times to get to the good.

Bart was very good last night so LEAVE HIM ALONE!

Smith has had good games this year, last night was not one of them, although I noticed he is putting his body in harder and laying tackles.

Guido - quite a few clangers, needs to concentrate.

Kretiuk - will he make it through the season?

Bandy - could be a great find for us.

Murphy, Gilbee, Birss, Alvey showed a lot of promise.

Hold your nerve people, we will break through. 2002 may not be our year, but that's no reason not to keep the faith! Success will come!

in 1995 we had a good and upcoming team......with a good blend of youngsters and more experinced players.........most of them which nearlly took us to a flag is 1997

if our squad was as good now.......as it was in 1995......i would be really excited. 1995 was a stepping stone for 1997/1998.....just a pity we didnt win the flag.

If you think this list is not stonger as far as near two years time goes than the 95 list than you really gotta see more of these youngsters.

97-98 we were dragged up the ladder by some good supp list pick ups, and very innovative coaching and training that has since been picked up by other clubs, thus bringing us back to the pack.

I personally though 1995 was a disappointing year. In 1994 once Joyce took over we had a terrific second half of the year and if not for injuries we could have won at least one final, Barry Standfield had to ruck against Melbourne for christs sake. Then in 1995 I had great expectations, but then we just snuck into the finals playing inconsistent football and got absolutely shellacked.
I feel this year we have our best crop of youngsters since the Grant, Cameron days. It may be a couple of years away but we are heading in the right direction
